Yes Panda use to be a lot better ,btw Bitdefender have version 10 out which I'm trying at the moment(seems a lot better on ram usage then version 9), I gave up on Kaspersky,while great I had some games that don't like it on in background,I prefer to keep my AV on in gaming if possible.

what games? i've played many games with it running without a problem. you can pause the protection too. if you're playing a game, there isn't much chance of getting a virus anyway.

Yes I know,have used KIS 6 long enough,Oblivion is one game,with Bitdefender 10 enabled it has yet to crash(been playing Oblivion for 3 hours today with BD 10),however 5 times lastnight and crashed within 5 mins today with KIS 6 enabled,FYI with KIS 6 disabled it did not crash lastnight,but as I have stated prefer to have AV left enabled all the time.

Anyway whatever the problem,as I've stated, Kaspersky is still a great AV.

What's AOL's angle on doing their whole free Kaspersky thing, anyway? The other freebies are mostly (all?) trying to upsell you to a paid version, which is understandable enough as a business model. What's AOL getting out of what must be a very expensive licensing of Kaspersky's technology?

Seems a little late for that, doesn't it? I can't really see any ex-AOL user suddenly saying "Gee, maybe AOL really isn't a steaming pile of crap" and going back to subscribing for things that are pretty much all freely available on the public internet.

I know that AOL can't just roll over and die now that their subscriber base is shrinking. It just seems like this has got to be a fairly expensive route to take - Kaspersky is one of the most expensive anti-virus programs out there.

I wonder which AV has very low memory/system resource? I thought AntiVir is the lowest? Am I wrong? I am curious about Kaspersky.
