Of course Obama was only demonstrating just how far he has to bend down to be on the same level as the Pres of China. It was quite the demonstration of dominance, but subtle, as only the Chinese would appreciate.
it was Japan

it's a shame -- if it was China, we could make a joke that Obama wasn't bowing, but rather, that China has us by the balls.

Attack the messenger... check.
Attack the message...? Nope.

So by your omission, you are agreeing that President Obama broke protocol?

You must really be hard up or shall we say deprived if you think that anything CADsortaGUY has any relevance to the real world......

I can't help but think those who are watching Obama's body language so closely are but poor pathetic little monkeys, wondering just what the alpha male might be up to, and why their alpha male doesn't just declare war on the enemy monkeys because that's all they know how to deal with.

Not to bright are you?

You will hurt yourself twisting yourself in knots to apologize for your feckless leader. Trust me, we saw enough of that with Bush. Now you are doing the same.

Probably shouldn't question others intellectual firepower when you fuck up basic grammar in the offending post.

My that's a good idea. Wait... which alpha male is ours? :hmm:

It wasn't a bow, he's just dropped his integrity and he was looking for it.

LOL You are a god.

Still, I have to say meh. It's apparent that Obama finds everyone superior to Americans, so I'm hardly surprised he would bow to an emperor. I mean, he IS an emperor for goodness sake, even if he doesn't have an empire. (Then again, ever seen how much of America Japan owns?) And we do need him to keep buying those scrumptious American Treasury bonds. . .

I think I'll save my outrage for something more, um, outrageous. After Clinton and Bush, the presidential bar's way below bowing to an emperor.

Yeah, seriously...

A REAL American would have punched that emperor's wife in the wise and beautiful woman, and then waved "the shocker" in his little foreign-people face.

You really have to be mired in a severely debilitating inferiority complex to hold that sort of opinion.

this is down there on the bottom of the list with his muslim religion and birth certificate in terms of things you should be concerned with Obama about.

Really? Is this really something to get upset about? Republicans do more damage to their own cause than any Democrat ever could. /facepalm

Exactly... To infer the POTUS thinks any foreign leader is superior to them is asinine. There's a reason they are referred to as 'the leader of the free world'. As theflyingpig would say, everyone knows this.

Umm, nope. No inferiority complex here. In fact, some of you are giving me rather a swollen opinion of myself - by contrast.

wow, since when was showing respect to a host nation such an egregious act?

Since Republicans lost and they are sore fucking losers

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20091116/pl_afp/japanusdiplomacyasiaobama

Some conservative critics juxtaposed the image of Obama with one of former US vice president Dick Cheney, who greeted the emperor in 2007 with a firm handshake but no bow.

"I don't know why President Obama thought that was appropriate. Maybe he thought it would play well in Japan. But it's not appropriate for an American president to bow to a foreign one," said conservative pundit William Kristol speaking on the Fox News Sunday program, adding that the gesture bespoke a United States that has become weak and overly-deferential under Obama.

Yay, another CAD thread that degenerated in to name calling, arguments over semantics, and word parsing. Par for the course.

The idiot in chief couldn't even get the bow right though. When you do a bow like that, you are to keep both hands at your side.

Well I guess first of all I don't see the big deal with our President bowing as a sign of respect to the leader of the nation that's hosting him. Also, to all the people arguing "he bowed too low or too long", did you ever consider he hasn't met a whole lot of Japanese people and/or isn't accustomed to what the proper depth or length of a bow should be? Or perhaps you could just assume he doesn't feel the need to beat his chest at every foreign leader he meets to ensure his dominance. I know, I know, that's crazy!

Of all the petty shit to argue about...seriously.

Wow are you guys getting desperate. I mean stop and think for a minute... you just made a thread about how scandalous the method that our president used to greet a foreign leader was.

A photo of this thread will likely be posted next to the definition of 'grasping at straws'.

Yeah kind of like how it was scandalous to use the words "Mission Accomplished" to the crew of an aircraft carrier after their mission was accomplished...
