is it really weird that this liberal doesn't believe in the death penalty in most cases other than child molestation? I mean, murderers could technically be victims of circumstances, or innocent and too poor to afford competent legal advice... But raping a kid (and there's DNA evidence)? How can that ever be explained away, save for insanity? How about life in prison for legally insane child molesters as a bare minimum, death for the rest? None of this 6 years bull shit.

EVERYONE deserves due process of law. If the evidence proves beyond a reasonable doubt that he was the one who did these crimes, then the death penalty should be applied appropriately.

The problem is a lot of people have been found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, been sentenced to death, and later exonerated.

To be fair, a lot of the people you are referring to were convicted before DNA evidence and their cases were largely circumstantial. People convicted nowadays with the use of DNA evidence is pretty damning.

That said, rapists/child molesters should be executed IMO. How they let these people out of jail is beyond me.

Scott Peterson was found guilty and sentenced to death, and his case was pretty much entirely circumstantial. It still happens today - it's not always possible to use DNA evidence. (I do believe Scott Peterson killed his wife)

DNA can make a person look guilty when they are not.

I don't think I've met a single person who believed he was innocent.

They hadn't even found her body when they arrested this guy so they must have some pretty solid evidence against him. I feel really bad for this poor girl and her family...they must be going through hell right now. Losing a child would be one of the most difficult things a person ever has to go through.

I am completely in favor of the death penalty in this case.

My son will always be my child. That doesn't change with age. One of the definitions of child is a son or daughter of human parents. I won't always treat him like a child but he will always be my child.
