did the guy in the review intall the waterchill correctly? load temp looks way off for the waterchill. and i don't need a happy pill. i just think when you look at the first page in a forum and see 2 other threads about the same thing why start another. just my opinion.

Thats cool, your tone just read/sounded brash to me, but then again I am sipping on sake. The load temps do look off IMO, but no way to find out if he did infact install it properly. I would hope/think he did. Either way, for those room temps, the stats are very impressive.

I want to see what his case setup is, since he said his stacker was in BTX layout. You can do that with a stacker? What does it look like? Can you do it with the new 810? I'm also wondering what the other components of his water cooling setup were, since all he mentioned was the water block. There's a lot more components to a good water cooling setup than that, isn't there? Why is the sky blue? Why am I asking so many questions?

Regardless, the performance is quite good.

well.. it actually did beat a H2O system..

Hmmm.... That's true, but that's like enthusiastically saying you raced a car on your ten-speed and beat it. "Car" can mean a whole lot of things. If you had raced a Viper and beat it than I would be very impressed. If, on the other hand, you had raced a decrepit old Metro running on 2 of it's 3 cylinders I would say, "Well, what did you expect?"

Same goes for watercooling. Put the CNPS9500 up against the watercooling "Vipers" and the results would be a lot different.

Zalman is betting not many people have watercooled vipers!

Besides that Zalman never claimed to take on high end water coolers!!

They did claim to take on the lower end water coolers though!

One question.....

Whats the sense in having a lower end water coller if an air cooler canget you with a degree or 2 or 3????

Just asking!!

That's a good question and I agree with you that it doesn't make a whole lot of sense (except for lower decibels like Remedy mentioned). I would definetely choose the air-cooled solution over the low-end H2O system. Lots less hassle, less expensive, etc.

I guess my beef is with people who look at the results and make a blanket statement about watercooling. They think watercooling is obsolete after seeing an air-cooler beat a low-end H2O kit. Just don't want those who are considering watercooling as an alternative to be disillusioned about its capabilities

The only thing I could find from Zalman about the CNPS9500 (only looked for 10 minutes) was a statement from the Computex event when they said "CNPS9500 LED, with its unique design, weight of less than 500g, and performance that is comparable to water-cooling was the talk of the event among many experts." Hard to tell what kind of watercooling they were talking about. Most rational people would assume they are talking about low-end kits but marketing guys can go overboard sometimes in their zeal to sell a product.

Would be a nice to compare the zalman 9500 against a high end watercooling setup ass well. If i have the time i will try to set one so i can impliment those results as well.

That would be awesome Quentin. Thanks for putting in the time to do the review. It's fun to mess with computers but its also very time consuming.
