Excuse me sir - I'm going to have to ask you to stop jacking my style.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. I kept my Evo X because I wanted to have something to use in bad weather, and because it's modded and will be my modding toy for the nearish future. The interior comparison is night and day (my evo was an 08 with like 0 interior options lol).

Edit: also 6'4" here. Wish the seat in the vette was about 1-1.5 inches lower!

Sweet cars, LOL Biased...

I wish I could justify keeping the Evo. Sadly I can barely justify having a Corvette. I have a more pedestrian Hyundai for inclement weather days.

Honestly I don't think the Evo interior has changed much since 08. The only feature my 2013 has is a aluminum shift know and handbrake lever. Which are super cold in the winter and will burn you in the summer, lol sweet. Oh I have some blue LED accent lights that were like a $300 option...

It is interesting that you would like more headroom and I want more legroom. I have a 36" inseam for what it is worth and no issue with headroom. It sounds like 6'4" is just about the max height for the car. Maybe 6'5" if the torso length to leg length was perfect.

As for the endless automatic vs manual debate...
I prefer traditional automatics for big torquey engines. Manual transmission for smaller engines and or turbos.

So in other words you have nothing to back up why the manual is better? And again that comes form someone with a manual trans Corvette.
4speed with Hurst shifter > 3 speed

Because heel>toe braking is fun and adds to the driving experience? Once you're used to driving that way, automatics suck. Coming from a person who drives a M/T Carrera S.

C7 M7 has rev match. No need to heel toe. :whiste:

Congrats, what a car! That thing is beautiful. Nice clean lines that are really starting to grow on me. And I never really was a big fan of newer Vettes.

Never driven an Automatic Corvette before or an 8 speed car of any time before so I had a question for you. Curious does the indicator show you the current gear the transmission is in?

Can you post a few pics of the back end and some of the interior. I want to a get a better look at this beauty. Thanks!

Honestly I never thought too much about Corvettes until I saw a C7 and then it was like I had a vision . The first Corvette I ever sat in was a C7 on the show room floor and the first time I drove a Corvette was when I picked mine up from the dealer.

The automatic will only show D on the dash (and the heads up display) unless you use the paddles to select a gear or you have the transmission in M (manual mode) in which case it always displays the current gear. Using the paddles temporarily overrides D, but the car will return to D if you don't give it any input for a while.

The weather has been crappy so I don't have any more good pics. Here is a 2LT Kalahari interior (the same as mine) on a convertible.

Do you know anything about cars at all?

Do you? The 2015 automatic corvette is faster and gets equal or better gas mileage.

My generation Corvette the manual is faster and better gas mileage so I got it. But for the 2015+ Corvettes the automatic is the superior transmission.

I don't claim to know everything but I have a rough idea of how they work. Can you please point out the part of my statement that was false?

Who the hell cares about MPG on a Corvette? Faster meaning what? 3.9 - 60 instead of 4.1? You know there is more to cars besides MPG and 0-60 performance right? I guess people loving these 'superior' automatics will be the first in line to purchase the first self driving corvettes right? HEY my new Corvette is so FAST and gets the best MPG! Plus I can just sit there and play candy crush the whole time!

I feel like one of those old people clamoring about 'back in my day blah blah blah', but seriously, if you are basing automatic vs manual in a sports car on MPG and 0-60 I don't even know why I'm bothering to argue.

OK then give some real world area where the manual is better in the 2015+ Corvettes. Not the BS it is more buttery and engaging. But real hard data.

How about personal preference. Ever heard of it?

MegaFlop, I am very happy for you, Congrats! I think our tastes are different, because I consider that Corvette a HUGE upgrade from what you had.

The new interior is the most awesome thing about the C7, what a leap from the C6. It's no Cali T, but it's a damned nice place to sit.

"Hard data"? How do you quantify the enjoyment of heel and toe braking, especially when you're used to doing it all the time? I'll give up a couple tenths to get that experience, especially since drag racing kiddies in tuned Civics from light to light is stupid anyway. I get it, it's hard to learn and even harder to master, but after you do, you won't want to drive an AT (unless you're just puttering around town doing errands).

Edit: Oh, and once you really get used to the clutch, shifter, and throttle response of a car, you make up those couple of tenths from 0-60 and the 1/4 mile you're so worried about.

To me, it doesn't matter if the AT is 'slightly faster', the MT is my preference for any car. Rowing/changing gears myself is part of the driving experience for me. For others, they prefer a AT for a variety of reasons. That could mean they only have one leg, spend a lot of time in rush-hour traffic and don't enjoy shifting, or just don't like MTs. That is their right.

What is great about the 2015 Corvette is that Chevy still lets us choose! Many newer 'super cars' in the Corvette demographic don't have a MT option at all anymore.

Lol hard data. Cars have never been about hard data man. You can tell all your buds that AT is faster though if it makes you feel better.

Listen, I am not bashing OP's car. I'm bashing someone suggesting the AT is 'better' because of MPG and 0-60. If you simply prefer AT's, or have a bad leg or whatever then great! But to ask for 'hard data' about this is honestly embarrassing, sorry.

To be fair to manuals...
There is hard data that the A6 automatic will over heat on a long road course. The new 8 speed automatic may or may not have the same problem.

So if you are a hardcore drag racer you would tend to get the automatic.
If you are big into track events then you would probably get the manual.
If you are the 99% that don't fall into one of those categories you should get whatever you like

The only thing you posted was "automatic..." so yes you were thread craping at least.

And if you post something so stupid like that then either back it up or stop thread craping. Only thing embarrassing is your waste of post here and then getting all butthurt when called out on it.

Yea the A6 was left over from the previous Generation and was only sold for the first year cars. That's why the Z06 comes with the A8 and also updated cooling. The C6 also had the older trans hold over the first year till the A6 was ready for example as well.

In this case the OP got the car he wanted and just so happens to be the one that gets better performance as well.
