Can't go on xp home on a hp system. Stopped at asking safe mode or normal mode, then rebooting again.
Took out the hd(80 gig w/2 partition one for xp and applications and another for winxp recovery files), and put it on another system.
The hd was recognized on by windows but the partition(C) couldn't be accessed with a message stating "the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable"
When I checked the Device Manager and Disk Management, the drive and the partition is tacked as healthy and working properly.
Anyway, I used a recovery program and recovered the files to another HD.
The real question is how can I fix the problem. Formatting the partition is not an option for now. Unless I reinstall XP from the recovery partition(Which is recognized and can be accessed) and copying over of the recovered files to the XP installed partition will make everything working again.
Any help will be appreciated.
