I just received an email which was very poorly done and looks like a PayPal scam. Just thought I'd let everyone know, although at this point I'm sure all ATers could easily detect this kind of email. It says something about response to the email using the provided form will lead to account cancelation, while the form asks for credit card number and an ATM PIN of all things. I just feel sorry for those who get taken by this kind of thing, especially when PayPal NEVER requires a PIN, especially through email. Just thought I'd give the heads up.
EDIT: Here's the text of the email, before the form where they want you to enter all the personal information:
This e-mail is the notification of recent innovations taken by PayPal to detect inactive customers and non-functioning mailboxes.
The inactive customers are subject to restriction and removal in the next 3 months.
Please confirm your email address and and Credit Card info number by logging in to your PayPal account using the form below:
MODS: This is my first post of this kind and I could not find anything in the rules prohibiting this kind of heads up. If these are against the rules I'm sorry and feel free to delete it.
