Another police brutality case

A L B U Q U E R Q U E, N.M., July 23 ? The parents of a runaway girl with a troubled past say they didn't know what to make of her bruised face and her story about a forceful police officer ? but then they saw the videotape.

The tape, which was made by Ruidoso jail officials, shows 15-year-old Susanne DiPaolo handcuffed by one wrist to a jail cell bench after her arrest, crying and swearing. Then the tape recorded Officer Alfred C. Stinnett as he entered her cell and began arguing with the teenager. DiPaolo could be heard asking for a lawyer on the tape.

"You so far are in trouble because you seem to think that you are in complete control," Stinnett is heard saying.

DiPaolo then yelled at him, "I hate you and I didn't say [expletive]. And you're a [expletive] crooked cop!"

Stinnett told her, "If you open your mouth again ? are you understanding me?"

"I'm not listening to you. I don't like you," the teen said, and Stinnett could be seen quickly pulling the handcuffed teen from a bench and throwing her face-first onto the concrete floor before wrestling her into a straitjacket.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on June 13, accused Stinnett of abusing DiPaolo, alleging that he slammed DiPaolo's face onto a car hood before mistreating her in the jail cell, where it says she was left lying on the floor in her restraints.

It also names two other officers, alleging one falsified reports, while another tried to cover up the use of force.

That's a load. No one deserves a beating like that... no police officer has the right to speak to a suspect like that.

Exactly... it doesn't matter whether the suspect deserved a beating or not. A police officer must hold themselves up to certain standards, which this one obviously didn't.

Wait a fsckin minute here that chick was handcuffed and that "Cop" assaulted her while she was tied up? You think that is ok? This chick had problems obviously, but smacking her around was not the way to handle it.

-bartenders that skim money off the bar.
-rapists
-murderers
-cops that need to be fired, for not acting like officers.


There are 738,028 police officers in the U.S. common sense says we are going to have a few bad apples-(they need to be fired, simple as that).

However, i'm not stupid enough to piss off ANYONE when i am freakin handcuffed. That's just begging for trouble.

I hate stupidity, and if you insist on believing in the Bible as being the truth Catholicism becomes an even bigger farce than it already is. If the God from the Bible indeed exists not a single practicing Catholic will make it to heaven. (Actually, that might be a reason for someone to want that God to exist)

I do see that but that is probably why I, like you and most of us, am not in that situation in the first place. Like most people the only interaction I have with the police is when I get pulled over for a traffic violation. I was really not so much aiming at you as all the folks that post in this and other similar threads that somehow the officer is justified in what he is doing because the girl has a smart mouth. I do not believe his actions represent the actions of a majority of the police which is reason I think cases like this need to be dealt with quickly and publicly in accordance with the law.
