UPDATED 1.25.11

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

Gaming. Mostly WoW for now.

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

<$1500

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

US

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.

N/A

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

N/A

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.

Yes.

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.

Open-minded to overclocking.

8. What resolution YOU plan on gaming with.

1080p

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?

ASAP

I was thinking something along the lines of:
ASUS DVD Burner
Antec Three Hundred
Samsung F3
Corsair 650W
G.Skill 4GB (2x2GB) 1333
Windows 7
i5 2500k + UD3 Combo

UPDATES 1.25.11
First off, Thank you all for your replys.
Changes as of now:
- Switched out old SSD choice for the Agility 2 60GB
- Debating between the GTX 560 and the 1GB 6950. Opinions?
- Debating 23-24" ASUS displays. Considering THIS one.

Thank you again for your input.

Anyone know of any good combos I might have missed?

Excellent first revision! I see you have done your homework.

The only change that I would make is the SSD. The Vertex is based on an Indilinx Barefoot controller, which was good for its time, but has been eclipsed by the newer generation. The Sandforce-based Agility 2 60GB can be had for $100 AR.

err, seriously? if you got the money to buy - Debating between the GTX 560 and the 1GB 6950. Opinions? It really doesn't matter for WoW, Pick a brand you trust (evga, Msi, asus etc) and buy it, either amd or nvdia.

Depending on the games he might consider though the 6950 1gb does better sometimes by 10-15 fps while in other games the 560 ti will pull ahead (usually in TWIMTBP titles)

this XFX 650 is also highly rated, on sale, and has a larger MIR.

Its modular which is what it really brings to the table over the Corsair

there are a few NIB 6950's in FS forum for 260ish shipped
