<< Charging more for something isnt gonna make a killer stop killing people. >>

Yes I agree, or banning wont change anything either. As long as guns are being manufactured for recreational or law enforcement there will always be a way to get one. But is seems like the people who are committing these shootings at schools are obtaining the guns so easily. From friends, people they don't really know (for money) or their parents who have guns, and don?t lock them up properly (or something).

I?m a gun owner myself; I own a browning gun safe (for one handgun). I?m all for gun safety, I believe you need to be real disciplined to own a gun. If I had one wish, it would probably be to eliminate all guns in the world. But as long as idiots live in our world, I will continue to own a gun just to protect my family. At least I know I have a fighting chance if an armed robber ever broke into my house.

Then again, there wasthat crazy tech worker who shot like 8 or 10 people or something. Damn country.. damn Earth..

Ok apparently this kid told like half the school and his parents about what he was gonna do...and yet nothing...

He also apparently reloaded his handgun in front of people videotaping and taking pictures of the incident...

And eww, KGTV (feed through to CNN) just showed me a dead body from their helicopter! Is it me, or is California really f**ked up??? Like honestly I don't feel sorry for any students losing loved ones if they just sat on the information or watched it through a videocamera instead of doing something. They are just as guilty.

And for all of those who feel like shootin' up some place, play counterstrike or something instead.

For the love of everything! I was picked on and made fun of for 18 years in school. I never decided to take a gun to class and just start randomly shooting. Now it's possible that yes, this child does have something mentally wrong with him. *Ring, ring* Um, yeah, Hi parents? Time to wake up. If a person has some sort of mental issue, wouldn't it have been detected by now?
I hate to point fingers at parents or society but hey, if the shoe fits I guess. It seems more and more these days, you see parents lugging children around in carriers or something of the like. That's fine for transportation purposes. But how about interacting with the child more? Playing with him/her at home, holding them, rocking them to sleep, whatever. More and more you see parents who rely on machines or other people to that for them. Children need to establish that bond witha child IMMEDIATELY! And they're not. It's holding over into growing up. Kids and parents are getting seperated almost from birth. It's almost as if parents don't care anymore. And it's that type of behavior that leads to garbage like this.
Contributing to this is society. "It's the entertaiment industry, it's the game industry....blah blah blah" Let me tell you something, I played D&D, Magic, Doom, Duke Nukem, etc, etc. Again, I'm not going out and killing people. Instead of pointing the finger at someone else, take a look at yourselves. I think South Park the movie hit it right on the mark. If you haven't seen it, one of the children's mother basically forms an organization to abolish "filthy" language in a Canadian movie. Did she deal with the child? Of course not. That would require actual parenting. Instead, she attacked something that absolved her from guilt.
Lastly, I'm getting married in a couple months. My fiance and I are scared to death to bring a child into this world. Yes, we're still planning on it. And we're also planning on rearing that child in a God and parent loving home. But even so, we can't protect them 100% from all of the garbage in the world. Yes we can monitor what our child watches, reads and listens too. But the plague of human society will eventually catch up to them. It will take everyone making a concentrated effort to raise their children the way God intended in order to make any kind of change. Otherwise, keep watching the news... because they'll be more shootings in schools.

Jeeze Beast1284, we are not setting a very good example as adults with that statement. I mean you don't have to insult him like that.

first of all, im not an adult, i am 17 years old... and second of all, if a guys got a gun, whether the damn thing is loaded or not, i am not going anywhere near that guy... what did you want them to do, go jump the guy while he was reloading???

Smiz: I think they have a name for that, communism.
Its a sad occurance that now you have to look at a school as a possibly dangerous place.
Supposed to be a safe haven, where that should be the furthest worry.
With mabey a scuff with someone once and a while.
One school shooting was shocking.
The second was like putting salt in the wound.
Third hit too close to home.
Now, its to the point where, I feel numb to such happenings.
Its sickening.

Why is it so easy to get guns? And most of the time psychos get guns, others don't really have a need for guns. Especially if psychos can't get them, then people wouldn't need guns themsevles for "protection", right?

I don't know how many times I've been sickened by the excrement Aryll posts. It's high time the mods step in and do something about this character in the name of all that's decent.

I am sad to say that this is scary be in that I live about twenty miles from this place and it's about ten miles from where I work. I am expecting to have a little girl in the next 6 weeks and it just makes me sad to have to hear how these parents see their kids go off to school only to find out later that their children are dead How scary is that? This makes me scared knowing that one day this could happen to any of us.

Because there will always be sick fvcks in this world, it?s a reality of life (MONEY!!!). If ?psychos? couldn?t attain guns then I would agree with you, but it?s a sickening fact that anyone can get a gun. Not thru legal channels (though sometimes it?s possible), but mainly thru illegal means, or like today?s shooting for example. Right from your own home.

I?ll tell you, the parents are mainly to blame in most situations like this. If the kid were raised properly they would comprehend the fact this is really wrong.

For all you people here who think this crap is sick, I congratulate your parents! For they have raised you with high ethical values!

Well, I've said more then I should on this topic. This is just sad.

Even Worse, look at the related headlines:

1. Detroit high school shooting injures 3 - February 2, 2001
2. Student dies after shooting outside Baltimore high school - January 17, 2001
3. Student killed in Michigan elementary school shooting - February 29, 2000
4. Suspect in custody after school shooting in Oklahoma - December 6, 1999

That's ludacris, we really need to start doing something about this. :frown:

As well as people have compassion for such things, instead of a cold/uncaring attitude like "population control".

Oh great, here comes the anti-gun portion of the media to start whining about more gun laws. Not to make light of this sort of situation, but how many kids have died in the last 20 years in school shootings? About... what... 10? Now, how many kids have died in car accidents? Thousands? More? I don't really get how people can be scared to go to school now that 2 more kids died (of whom I feel deeply sorry for), but get in a car, and not buckle up, and think things are safe. Now I'm not on a seat-belt crusade here, the statistics just show. I am really sorry to hear this, but is this really worth all the attention its getting? 2 people died. Thousands more die each day, but this is done on school property so it'll get headlines for the next 6 months now. Does this really make sense to everyone? What about the other people who die? In other words: WHY DOES THIS GET SO MUCH ATTENTION?

My bother in law is a cop in Orange County (former USMC), now I see why his 3 kids are home schooled.

(Sorry, I said I wouldn?t say anything more, but this makes me mad)

<< Does this really make sense to everyone? >>

No it does not, and I see your point. This is how our country operates, backwards! More lose their life to alcohol, lets banned that too. Go figure.
