Though its fairly minor, search results are no longer in chronological order of the last post made on them. Its not a huge thing but it makes searching for items in FS/FT easier.

Been covered many times. (I think) Jason is working on restoring the chronological sorting for those of us (the great number of us, that is) who desparately want it.

What's the point of the search for none of these words? Let me search for words that isn't there?

The quick search at the top of the forum doesn't seem to search titles only anymore. I get alot of hits that don't have my search term in the title.

***Apparently it's not just the search at the top of the forum. I went into the search page, picked search titles only and entered "p4" as my criteria. The following thread was included in the results:

"WD 80gb 7200 2mb cache hdd: $45 shipped"

I always loved the search feature here because it worked better than anywhere else. But chronological searching is very important in the Forsale forum because who wants to look through 10 month old ads for items that are no longer for sale? Add to that the apparently dysfunctional title only search and it makes me :brokenheart:

For example, if I wanted to find posts about macs, the previous search would bring up eMachine threads.

Any word: mac
None of these words: machine

It's used in conjunction with the other fields.

Just ran into the same thing. Tried searching for 9800 and not ONE of the resulting titles/subjects had "9800" in it. Kinda stupid.

i tried searching for "9800 Pro" and it gave me the "ignored word error":

Your search contained ignored words, ignored words are words like a,and,to,between. Please re-construct your search without these ignored words.

I can't search for RAM for crying out loud in the FS/FT forums. I was originally trying to search for PC-3200 and that didn't work, so I tried PC3200 and it returned the ignored words message again. I even tried searching for just RAM and it said it contained ignored words. I believe the search function is severely broken.

Heck, I tried to search a forum for "monitor" and that was ignored. I'm very sorry, but if this is MSSQL's idea of an "unimportant" word to index, then it sucks very severely. :|

Search, indeed, appears to be completely broken. This is a Very Bad Thing, and should be fixed ASAP.
