I manualy coped the address.. and tried on the new browser... didn't work

so i knew it was a scam

when i clicked it, new browser poped up w/ ebay login page.... but.. it was made up...
how do i kno?

i put random ID, and random PASS... it let me logged in..
not actually
just the first page of EBAY

and then new broswer poped out, asking about me
EVERYTHING
SSN, ID, PASS, BANK ACCOUNT, CREDIT CARD

so i just wrote.. through out the whole form....
"i am not stupid"
"you suck my c***"
"you f*** your mom"
"you stupid mother f*****"

yup..

Is this the friendly name you saw or is it the actual URL?

The domain name is xxx.ebay.com so they have to take over the whole ebay domain to scam you. That's hard to believe.

It's got to be the display name, since when he clicks on the link the URL actually works.

Use on-line form at http://pages.ebay.com/help/basics/select-RS.html , select Account Concerns -> Spam and Misceleneous Offences -> I don't think an e-mail I received is actually from eBay and click on "Continue". You may want to read the top topic there and then click on "Contact Support".

These ebay scams usually send the info to a .ru domain, via cgi. I got one early on in the mess, and contacted ebay, and they spent some time actually investigating it. I am sure that they have given up trying to investigate them now, as common as these "account locked" fallacious emails have become. I believe the email address to send it to is

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/everyone-spam.html

There's a link there to send in the offending email, try to cut and paste the REAL header for them, because forwarding it nails the necessary information to track the offenders. Keep using your heads, and eventually someone will find one of these scamming bastidges and beat the living crap out of them. And hopefully it will be televised on the Scammer Channel.

Zimbabwe? How about Nigeria? I read in the newspaper about an email scam that has cost a lot of people including some famous "successful" people who should definitely know better, a lot of money. Involves Nigeria and a proposal to launder assets, real estate. Promise of riches for help and partnership to free Nigerian assets. Funny thing is that after reading the article I've noticed probably 1/2 dozen of these sent to me. Usually I delete but once or twice I replied telling them they were blanketty blank.
