Olympics I care a little for, but when I think winter olympics, I think small mountain towns with snow falling during events. Not some huge metropolis that barely gets any appreciable amount of snowfall. Just very artificial feeling like the snow they are using.

Although viewing share is down, the Super Bowl has been breaking total viewership records for years (not every year, but in many years). This is based on domestic viewership, so I suspect it ignores what should be even stronger growth from foreign viewers. With TV as fragmented as it is (hundreds of broadcast stations + Internet), the Super Bowl is one of the few bankable TV events remaining.Does anyone actually give a shit about these sporting events anymore (hyperbolic, of course some people care but viewship has been at all time lows)? I gave up a long time ago and more and more people I interact with have been much more muted about it.

You can't easily have an ongoing discussion on most of the current social platforms. There's no bumping, or threads, so to speak. Stuff just gets buried. Try to find a post on FB that you saw in the morning. You'll be hard pressed to find it again. Social media has it's place but it's too bad it actually ended up replacing forums.
Kids are buying new albums on cassette tapes again, so maybe they'll return to forums tooLet's do some basic assessment.
These message boards were at their peak during web 2.0 in late 90s into 00s. You literally had a class of kids joining as the AT got bigger.
Today, kids don't join this. They go to instagram or tiktok or whatever.
