I can honestly say, I’ve NEVER been in a Sam’s Club. WalMart, sure... but not the club.

we have a Sam's and BJ's within 5 minutes from the house. Costco is 30 minutes away. I go to Costco.

I don't get the Costco love. If things didn't say Costco on them, I couldn't tell the difference in it and Sam's club. Overcrowded, understaffed, poorly laid out.

I don't know about that but their employee compensation/retention is excellent. Just that beats the mega wally world.

I switched from Sam's Club to Costco. The prices for what I buy are better and they have a much better wine selection.

The real question is, why do you keep going back?

Sams club is 8 min away and close to other things like the grocery. Costco is 30 min away and not close to any where else we might need to go on errands

I don't get the Costco love. If things didn't say Costco on them, I couldn't tell the difference in it and Sam's club. Overcrowded, understaffed, poorly laid out.

Employees are way happier, customer service is way better, stores are cleaner and some of the products are better

Costco is known for using top end vendors for their Kirkland branded products. I knew a guy who was a buyer for Costco, and the stories he told me...wpw. Costco has a TON of leverage with vendors, and refuse to offer shit for their products.

Same here. We do not have a nearby Costco, the closest is in Dallas but I had been to Costco a couple times with friends by using their membership. I did spot check a few items such as pants, shirts, soap, etc. and the prices were compatible with Sam's. I did eat that the food court and the quality were ok, not bad but not great either. Sound like Ford vs. Chevy to me.

The only thing Sam's has over Costco is Coke in the fountain. Costco has 5 shitty Pepsi flavors instead. 16 fountains. 5 flavors. All shit.

I remember when they switched over. It was a sad day. To make things worse the brand new Pepsi fountain peed all over my hand when I tried to use it because it hand't been assembled correctly

generally i agree... the kirkland branded stuff is usually pretty good too

however, i think the meat selection (specifically steaks) are better at sam's club

I remember when costco used to have kirkland branded raisin bran cereal... It was made by raisin bran just more premium than standard raisin bran.... I miss that. Generally speaking, Kirkland is good. I love their albacore.

I only buy certain things at costco, otherwise a prefer the normal grocery store.

Toilet paper/paper towels
dried fruits and nuts
dried pasta
cheese
bread/cereal
maple syrup/honey/nutella/peanut butter
Some snacks that aren't easy to find at grocery store....
Organic milk and organic free range eggs
Yogurt (chobani)

costco PRODUCE SUCKS. They should just stop. Always moldy strawberries...... meats are good, but generally just as expensive as a normal grocer....

I'm thinking about rejoining Sam's Club. It's been several years since I last shopped at Sam's but I saw there's $10 off for new members so the effective membership price would be $35. I'm not giving up Costco but Sam's has little different product mix that seems to cater more towards small businesses and restaurants. I've heard they upgraded their meat department so I want to check out their selection along with their spice and seasoning aisle.

Their scotch is rebranded top shelf stuff. They sell 20 yr speyside for $60, last I checked. Heard a rumor that it's probably Macallan.

That. If I buy something at Costco, it might not be the best or cheapest thing, but it's going to be better than average. Sam's club is just the same crap walmart sells, but in larger quantities.
