You know, there is a legitimate excuse that Trump's followers could give for his tweet:
"It's time we as a nation did more to talk about mental illness, and it's impact on families and in the workplace. Aspberger's and Tourrettes are no laughing matter...No mental illness is. It's time to stop making fun of those who suffer these illnesses and start getting help."

That might give me pause, but then I'd have to think about these real victims of these illnesses and how many would hate to be associated with Trump.

Except he suffers from neither of these. He's just a pompous hateful old fuck that thinks he's above reproach.

I dunno, I think he clearly suffers from some sort of mental deficiency where he cannot follow actions through to their consequences. I mean, he just ridiculed Mika and he'd probably STILL expect a wedding invitation!

He's never had consequences. He's never had to deal with a result of his actions.

Hell he was punished by being given the most important office in the world for his antics.

People hate them some Trump. No doubt about it.

This is true. He is currently the least popular president in history at this point in his administration. As per the available data there has been no executive the country has thought less of at this point.

Pretty impressive that he could be this much of a fuckup, wouldn't you agree?

What I'm wondering is where the hell is Mr I'm a Christian, a conservative, and a republican in that order is on this? He seems to condone this behavior by his silence. If he had any real beliefs he would have a talk with Trump at the very least. If he had real courage he'd resign in disgust.

You don't get to decide what being a Christian is all about.

He's simply saying part of being a Christian is to reject hateful degeneracy such as what we have on display here from Trump. Are you saying to be a Christian is to condone and accept it? Or perhaps it just means to not give a fuck?

Why not? You seem to think you get to decide what being black is all about. The right seems to think they get to decide what being Muslim is all about. They also seem to decide what being liberal is all about. They also seem to think they get to decide what being American is all about.
So the precedent has been set.

As you said, he has no real beliefs and no real courage.
None of them have morality nor standards of dignity.

Really? You need to STFU up fuck off.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with allthy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

That is the #2 rule of Christianity. Trump repeatedly fails and fails again at it.
Pence, as a proclaimed Christian, should be trying to reign Trump in and have him adhere to that same rule.

If Trump loved his neighbors even half as much as he loves himself, the world would be much much different.

I do not need to do either of those two things. How do you know Pence isn't doing those two things?

Trump is an embarrassment to the country. Who has ever heard of the leader of a democratic country engaging in such childish behavior? Yet this is happening with such frequency that we are becoming numb to it. It is the new normal. I'm sorry to say that it has lowered the bar for political behavior in the country, and this lowered bar will impact future behavior of others besides Trump himself.

What lowered the bar is our gridlock. The voters want change... and cannot get anything done. Trump filled the void by being outlandish, but the desperation that allowed him to squeeze in already existed. This "new normal" is a symptom of a far bigger problem than Trump, however difficult that may be to imagine.

Trump is our collective crazy uncle. Unfortunately we see and hear from him a lot more than just at Thanksgiving dinner.

These four years are going to be really hard to explain in the future. People are going to be making fun of the US forever for being this stupid.

The world has been pointing and laughing since day one of his presidency. Well, except for Russia, they can't do that unless Putin allows it.

I will try to give you a serious response, no most will not laugh at US, what we feel is US shifting away from other G7. The Trump effect is to have USA under the microscope to the people from around the world. It show the other side of US culture – D vs R, and it show the world USA have their share of internal issues just like the rest of us.

From a PR stand point, pro coal, withdraw from agreements, and ignoring climate change isn’t exactly helping.
