My rig:
MSI Neo2 Platinum
Venice 3200+ LBBLE

OC result:
2750 Mhz
275 x 10 ... HTT3x ... 200:100 divider ... vcore 1.60v

ISSUES:
system doesn't POST with any other divider 200:166.... 200:133.. even though speed is below 200Mhz .... i used to run 200Mhz 2-2-2-6 on my XP system

changing the CPU VID in BIOS doesn't change vcore at all. vcore only changes when i used the percentage increase option..

fast write has to be disable for 3D to work..

SO:
guys.. any idea how to get my RAM running at better speed? the whole performance is held back by the RAM running at 140Mhz.... could it be the motherboard spoiled ? or do i need new RAMs ?? do any other people has issues running at 200:133 divider on corsair rams ??

try only 1 stick of RAM at a time.

Try loosening the timings. Try different DIMM slots.

Is the machine stable with the CPU running at 2750?

It's the ram...

My hyper x would run 215 2/3/3/7 on my socket A board.. I am in the same boat as you currently with my OC.

Try a different BIOS, and loosen the timings some more.

i had tried BIOS 1.5 (stock) and currently 1.8 which definately is better..

I will play with the RAM now.. vdimm was at 2.7v can't go anywhere with loose timing... but will try... will report back

yes 2750mhz is stable.. prime95 whole nite... good enough for me.... able to boot into windows with 2860mhz.. but BSOD...

bjc112: same boat as in even when the suitable divider is used to make sure RAM is below 200Mhz ... the RAM still doesn't work ?

This is why it's worth it to not deal with the problems OC'ing a 3200+ and pay the extra money and get a 3800+ at put to 2.8ghz.

I haven't heard a single problem with someone OC'ing a 3800+. You're now the 4th or 5th case of problems OC'ing a Venice 3200+.

3800+ gives you a 12x multi so you also don't need to have rediculously clocked ram to get 2.8ghz

I have tried the 200 (1:1) 166; 133 and 100.

@ the 133 divider I can't get above 240 - which puts my ram at about 150mhz

@ 300x9 (100 divider) I seem to hit the wall again or get close to around 150mhz..

I could run 215 1:1 on my nForce 2 chipset..

It must be something with the 64's built in mem controller.

I am using the 1.8 BIOS as well.. I have NOT tried the 166 divider with that BIOS, just 100/133..

I'll report back after work tonight, as my motherboard died and I'll have a new one today!

Are you running the ram at 1T or 2T? Run it at 2T. It really solved a lot of issues I was having until I forced ram to 2T. On my DFI mobo, the Venice has not been 1T friendly. Not sure if its the same situation for you with the MSI, but worth a try.

im running it at 2T.. and basically right now i had already tried everything.... still no go

bjc112: exactly same as me.... see if we could figure something out.....

im doing 290 x 9.5 now.. gotta squeeze every drop from the 200:100 which only works

Battlewaffle: thx for the recomendation.. but 2 things.... it will spoil the fun of OCing doesn't it ? .. and 3800+ cost about double....... so... no go for me...

Have you tried the 166 divider? Duvie was messing around with his, and was able to get quite a bit further on 166 than 133.. ( I think so at least )

I have someone lined up to buy my Hyper X 3200 and I will buy some OCZ

nope... 166 not for me... becoz i wan my cpu running at 2750ghz...

got a solution:
POST with 200:100 divider... this way i can run 290 x 9.5

inside windows.... use A64 Tweaker... set the timing and set it to 133 locked... the result i got is 184Mhz DDR ... 2755Mhz CPU....
everything stable right now... but i won''t be able to get it to run at 200Mhz or above.. becoz of the divider even at 200:166.... until i get some new ram....

p/s: how much do u think my Corsair XMS 3200 LLPT 512MB x 2 is worth ??
