I keep most of my important stuff in my "My Documents" folder and that folder is pointing to a second platter drive so I never have to worry about my drive failing. The only stuff I'll lose is settings for programs and whatever crap I left on my desktop.
Anyone else use the ability to point your "My Documents" folder to a separate location besides the system drive.
I keep my stuff in a folder called "C:\Users\Username\Actual Documents"
"My Documents" contains only program config data and save games and the like which I manually trim on occasion.
so, at the moment it contains 4.46GB of data in 3970 files under 904 folders (including subfolders)
At its root it contains 61 folders and 15 files.
I don't know why MS thought it would be a good idea to tell program makers to dump all their program config data into my documents instead of just making a shortcut to app data on the desktop.
It makes it completely useless for storing documents. Actual documents on the other hand contains 7 subfolders in its root.
