another vista file delete issue...ughhh

I've done the whole permissions thing and ownership many times for and old windows install folder and still can't delete it. I've tried sending it to the unlcoker program, i've installed the redistry edit to take ownership in the right click menu and nothing seems to be working. here is the cacls output. What am I missing? BTW i am logged on as an admin

try in safe mode? i just put vista on myself, i dont even know if they still have safe mode.

Open an elevated command prompt and then do a rmdir /s windows.old from there. Did that work?

nadda, just scrolls alot of access is denied

I'll try a reboot in safe mode late when i get it in front of me, right now i am doing it remotely. All the other trys though were done in front of it

Try this, open an command prompt with administrator privledges.

Type 'cleanmgr /sageset:1'

an advanced disk cleaner window will pop up giving you more cleanup options including old versions of Windows, select what you want to clean.

then again from a command prompt type 'cleanmgr /sagerun:1'

Gone?

cool, that got rid of them except for 1, which it left the user folder and baout 8k of data. which makes no sense. Thanks for the help

Cool, glad it worked, that is odd it left that little bit of data. But who cares about 8k.

ARGH, I tried the methods listed in this post but it didn't work. Even in the Command Prompt I'm getting "access denied"

Is there a force delete command that should work?

Try running the command prompt as administrator.
