Antec 1030B vs. Enermax 710B

I have seen some other topics on the enermax vs. the 1040, but I am curious as to opinions on the enermax with the 330W PSU and the antec with the 300W. I can get the antec delivered for about 97 bucks (emscomputing) or the enermax for 114. The advantage of the enermax is the slightly larger PSU, and an additional fan..

Given the extra fan is worth 5 - 10 bucks depending (plus ship), the difference in cost between the two is really only about 10 bucks (given I would be buying another fan anyway...). Is the 330W enermax version worth going for given that difference?

Opinions on antec 300W psu versus the enermax? I am going with an athlon XP, 1700 or 1800, Abit KR7A-raid. I have seen some mention that the enermax PSUs have an issue with the 5v rail for XPs. Thoughts?

I know you are looking at the 1030, but I would really recommend going for the 1040. I got mine for $140 delivered.
The enermax does not seem to provide as good 5V and 12V rails as the 1040. Most people report the Enermax delivering slightly under 5V and 12V where the 1040 is always right on, or slightly over.

They look like the same case to me. Please post some links if i'm wrong. So it all depends on whether or not you want the 300w ps or the 330. imo.

that seems to be exactly his dilemma. Antec PS tend to be very good, and Enermax can sometimes be less than great. I myself would buy the ANtec because the PS would probably perform about the same, and its cheaper.

The SX10xx comes with two case fans standard, I believe. I second the vote for the 1040, although you should be fine with the 1030.

Thanks. I was thinking of the 1040 too, though I was not sure I actually need the 400 - consensus tends to be 300 is enough for most apps, but "it can't hurt to have more" When I think about it more, I can get the 1040 delivered for about 16 bucks more (130 from ems) Everyone seems to think the 400W in the 1040 is a great PSU so maybe I should go that way - especially since there is at leas some issue with the enermax and the XP athlon.

I just got the sx1030b (didnt use the psu already had a 431 watt enermax). I love this case and i would recommend it any day

i too have a 1030b, love this case. came with another type of PSU tho. so it isn't the greatest psu. currently negociating with a guy on the forums for a enermax 431watt PSU. hopefully if i get that, it can maintain and fully power all my periphersals. =)

got 4 case fans and a DIY Fan Duct for my cpu. the case with that many fans, i'm currently at 19-20 c in case tempertature. ventilation in this case is great. the 1040b is the same thing to my case, just a better psu. i recommend this case highly =) and you don't have to spend twice this much for a Lian-PC also =)

I have a Antec SX840 .. and my XP1800+ running rock solid...

and yeah I heard the same thing, Antec 5V and 3V rails are much more solid than Enermax.. and believe me.. that's all that matters for an XP...

1 more thing.. check out the resellerratings for EMS.. have heard bad things 'bout them...
try better stores like techstore.com .. etc..

Well, I am convinced - gonna skip both the 300W antec and the 330w enermax - complaints about enermax (as above) and some are saying the 300w antec is not always enough for the newer amds I think I will just jump to the 1040 (or a 10XX case with the antec 400W fan in it...)

I bought my SX830 from EMSComputing. They did an excellent job with shipping and everything. I got regular UPS ground and received the case in two days.
