Completed mods:
[*]2 120mm intake fans on bottom of case
[*]2 120mm exhaust fans on top of case
[*]Stock latch removed, 2 latches installed on door
[*]Custom window

Mods still working on:
[*]Front USB ports
[*]4 switches controlling 8 CCFLs, mounted in faceplate intake slots
[*]Acrylic rods used in place of HD leds, DPDT switch to switch back to stock LED if desired
[*]Top window over CDRW drive
[*]Window in top of CDRW drive
[*]Rheobus2 controlling 8 case fans

I'm sure I'll think up other mods ;-)

sounds nice..I have the 1040 case, my mods so far include: 3 120mm fans in bottom of door, A custom window leaving the Stock latch Intact, a Blue Neon, EL Cable, Wirelooms around all the power cables, Rounded ATA/100 cables, and rounded Floppy cable, 2 SPST switches controling the lights, and I have a 4" LCD that im going to use to show all my MBM5 stats....I havent done the clear top HDD mod...cuz you cant see my hdd anyways. These cases are a blast to mod...post a link to some pics when your done...If you like, the link at the bottom of the reply is a link to some pics of my mods.

Yes, it's the same case. I should have probably just cleaned up the old posting, but it would have stayed in the dregs, 3 pages back, and never been seen ;-)

That's not a lot of fans ;-) Since I'll be using a Rheobus to dial them down, I wanted a lot of fans to get good airflow.
I now have 14 fans:
2 120mm intake - Panaflo H1a - Rheobus-ed
2 80mm intake - Panaflo L1a - Rheobus-ed
2 120mm exhaust - Panaflo H1a - Rheobus-ed
2 80mm exhaust - Panaflo L1a - Rheobus-ed
2 PSU (Enermax 430W) - 92mm internal, MB controlled, 80mm external, dial controlled
1 CPU - 80mm Panaflo L1a - MB controlled
1 chipset (stock on MB) - MB controlled?
2 for DDR chips - MAY put on Rheobus

I'm considering ganging all the 80mm case fans on one Rheobus channel (still FAR below the rating) so that I can use one Rheobus channel for the CPU/chipset/DDR chips. Anyone think that would be a bad idea? I'd leave that channel at full voltage most of the time.

You do realize that at some point, extra fans only add noise. I bet you will see virtually no difference with or without the 4x80mm fans. those 120s will move enough air to keep that case cool. The two fans for the RAM is overkill when you have that many fans already in there. I'd keep the 120s, and I think you have an awesome idea with that mod, and it'll look really cool, but the 80s I don' t think will help much.

I like the double latch door and the window, they're sweet! You've got some cool ideas for that baby. (hehe)
