If the 900 was 2" deep and had a ded. floopy bay instead of the sloped top. (still keeping the 9 - 5.25" bays)

It would be perfect.. I still might try it out..

ill post pics of my first build with an antec fulltower (4 years back), the chieftec/alienware knockoff i think, and then my p180 black build with rig in sig. the cables are a mess.... the point is it is more about effort than the case unless the case is just a piece of garbage.

there were some points where it was a bit time-consuming to get the cabling decent in the p180 but all it takes is a little effort, and not like superhero effort either.

? leds use almost nothing. and are great for seeing if somethings wrong with your fans at a glance.

finally saw one in person, it looks pretty nice, but its mainly for heavy duty users who care less about noise. i like the big fans though. the bigger case is probably more practical, and quieter. silent and functional. 900 might be better for toting around an extreme overclocked system. great cooling, but with so many fans and direct outlets for sound, you aren't going to get silence out of that ever. at best its probably relatively quiet for the amount of air going through the case.

If I were to buy a case *right now*, I would either buy another P160, or the 900.

I just got the 900 off of the CompUSA Deal. It was sitting next to a P180, and the P180 was just to big for my tastes. It looked like a nice case though if you like larger cases.
I'm still waiting for all of my other computer parts to show up for my build, so I can't say anything about its quality yet, but from opening it up and putting my PSU in it seems like a stable easy to use case. The 200mm fan is HUGE!

I've been checking cases out like crazy and imo, the p180 wins. Too many holes (LOUD)in the Antec 900 and there are no dust filters at all. Neither case looks nice in my eyes. The p180 is awesome in terms of ease of tinkering and re-arrangment (once the PITA cables are in place).

Can you imagine how many screws you would have to go thru to take hard disks out if you're Trouble-Shooting for which one is failing? Just my 2 cents.

Btw, the p180 seems so much sturdier than that of the 900.

Don't get me wrong, the CompUSA deal for the Antec 900 with the spot fan is a great bargain but I'd still prefer the P180 hehe =oP

I love my 900 and I love the blue It's a great case and isn't loud if you put all the fans on low. It was damn easy putting everything together and routing my cables in this case. The only thing is, I don't understand why a 8800GTX wouldn't fit with the front fan in, you can just take that stupid useless plastic piece on the back of the hd cage off can't you? I don't think that's needed to use the fan. I have a DS3, E6400, Scythe Mine.B and an 8800GTS (which still has quite a bit of room). The cables from up top do have harder time reaching than normally but I got them routed pretty nicely anyways. My 7200.10 Seagate is at 26*C, both cores idle at 27*C (1.4V/3.2GHz) and where ever this MB gets it's ambient measurement from is at 34*C (NB? it's at +0.2V). It looks pretty mean too. I was looking at the P180 but I care more about the cooling than the noise, and besides, I can turn the fans down if I need to

Antec 900...Awesome case! Very quiet due to the larger 120mm fans turning slower than say 80mm fans. The only noise I hear is from the cpu fan quite honestly and that goes away if I set Qfan (Asus) to enable. Anyone says this case is loud hasn't heard one.

Switched my components over from Thermaltake Tsunami (another awesome case btw) and cpu/mb temps dropped 6 degrees c. That's with all fans on low. Asus P5wdh w/E6600 o/c to 3gig with stock Intel fan/hs = 28c and load 33c. Oh ya this case is the one.

anybody who says they can only hear their cpu fan in a p180 must not hear very well

i have a p180 and i can hear it fairly well, and my cpu fan is a quiet yate loon low speed 120mm on my ninja - so i hear more than that.

what one person thinks is quiet another things is silent - so take all of that with a grain of salt.

oh and all my antec tricool fans are on LOW

Can't say how loud the p180 is as I don't have one. Mine's a 900.

Both are ugly as sin. Solo then wet sand and buff it for automotive quality finish.

Picked up one of these the other day, didn't get the great CUSA price of $79 but I needed a case quickly and I doubt I would've been satisfied with the other cases that are on special now (a bunch in Hot Deals).

Placement and number of fans in this case are awesome. At first I didn't think they were even spinning, they're extremely quiet and without taking a close look, seem as if they're in a fixed position. They really should include the extra 2 fans though.....$40 for another 2 Tri-Leds after market is kinda BS.

Biggest improvement in temps was with my WD Raptor X 150, dropped temps from a crispy 52C to 29C. Also made a huge improvement with my 8800GTS, going from 82C (from nVidia monitor) to 62C. Also dropped my CPU and Ambient Temps about 5-6C.

I can see how some people hate the look, but I like it. Has enough bling without looking like its trying too hard. Form meets functionality with its aggressive styling and hard lines. Reminds me a lot of the new Mustangs where other cases remind me more of tricked-out Honda Civics.

Few negatives as others have pointed out though. The HDD cages are a pain in the ass. Have a magnetic screwdriver ready to go before you start building. The PSU is mounted at the bottom, which is great for airflow and thermal environment but clearly most PSU makers didn't have this placement in mind when they determined the length of the 4-pin ATX connector. Its just long enough to run on the back side of the case above the expansion slots; I would've preferred to run it along the front and then to the back. I didn't have any problems mounting my 8800GTS and it looks as if there's enough clearance for the pass through fan as well. May have a problem with the GTX though as others have said, as its 1.5" longer. Can get around this I guess by switching the middle and bottom HDD cages and using the pass through fan on the bottom cage. The case connectors are a bit short as others have said, but there was plenty of slack connected to my P5N-E. Antec may have extended the cables slightly.

Overall an awesome case though. Big improvement over my Lian-Li PC-60+ which I bought thinking it would be the last case I ever bought.

I have a 180B and the final choice came down to it or the 900. The 900 was what I really wanted, since I like LEDs, but I couldn't deal with the hassles of all the screws to install and/or remove a hard drive. I test drove one and that was the deal killer. The biggest con of the 180 is the wiring. One of these days I am going to get some extensions and redo things. The appearance of the case has grown on me and now I like its look of solid and reliable. If I had the money and the need I would own both of these cases and use either one depending on my mood.

One last thing. It is NOT a silent case. At least mine isn't. I can definitely hear the case fans on low and when the EVGA 7950GT goes into overdrive it all sounds like a jet engine. I am looking to change the two top fans out for Yates and maybe add a third one to the front. My CPU temp with Core Temp is 39-44 on a stock 6600.

Just got the 900 and I'm really liking this case. The HDD case wasn't as bad as people make it out to be and overall installation didn't take too long (~2 hours). Putting in two extra fans along with the four that already come with the case really makes it shine. E6400 stock temps were lowered by a few degrees (40-52) and my video card temps definitely dropped a lot (from 49-68 to 44-59, w/ stock cooling)

The Nine Hundred just popped up again for $89 No MIR at CUSA.

There's also the possibility of 1) saving another $25 with MIR through CUSA or 2) Getting a PM to Best Buy and then using the 12% Rewards Zone Coupon.

Either way, a great deal on a great case, I'll be PM'ing $50 back bringing my total for this case to $65 or so + tax.

I am still testing a new build with the 900, and the 180 was my other choice as well. I am building it for a friend who told me to build for him what I would build for myself, but that he did not want a huge case, so I chose the 900 purely because it is smaller than the 180.

One thing I really like about the 900 that has not been mentioned so far is that cable routing is an absolute dream. I obsess on things like cable length and placement, and never feel like I've gotten remotely close to clean enough. In my last build for myself, I even had Performance PCs fabricate some custom length modular power cables for my OCZ PSU. Even after all that, my last build was just OK on the neatness front.

The 900 comes clean almost without trying. The PSU in the bottom leads to a logical path for the 24 pin cable. Of course, the fact that my HD and optical drives are all SATA does not hurt, either.

Anyway, my OC efforts on this E4300 in a 965P-DS3 are getting into the warm range, and I have just switched the fans from low, where they were not particularly noticeable, to medium where they are very noticeable. I shudder to think what high might sound like. Then again, my load temps dropped by at least 3C when I jacked up the vots to the fans.

With the amount of cabling that had to be stuffed in there, there's still some room to maneuver around.

I likey!!!

Reminds me of canned Tuna...

Abuse a P180 like this, and you would have a melt-down guaranteed! LoL!

What a GREAT case!!!

Look at the title of this thread...

Does it say ANYTHING about Lian Li?

Why do you guys feel a need to beat everyone over the head with your poor choices in life?

This is why.

I love it!
I'm no Lian Li fanboy, I've owned quite a few (including old Antec ones), but I've grown to like my Lian-Li the most.
