ok.. go to www.outpost.com...look up "fan". they have antec 80mm for 4.95 shipped. and 92mm for 6.95 shipped...OVERNIGHT

they upped the 92mm fan by a dollar. also 2-3 days ship.

OK, could someone tell a relative newbie what is considered preferable: a 3 pin (attaches to MB?) vs a 4 pin (attaches to PS?) fan.

While I'm at it, how many fans of what sizes do people normally mount on Antec 282 cases?

a 3pin can be mobo. monitored..4 pin cannot....three fans usually are run in a case. 1 intake two exhaust.

4pin as you only have 3 3pin spots on your motherboard. It's a pass-through 4pin adapter so you don't lose a plug

Will the 92 mm fit in the sx1030 or are those only for 80 mm?

Most of the fan holders on the Antec cases are 80MM. That's the best thing to stick with unless you're sure 92mm will fit. Generally speaking, I would not attach these fans to the motherboard, there's enough going on there without adding another fan to the mix. They do just fine connected to the power supply.

For Athlon systems, do most people go with front (intake) fans as well as rear fans? The AMD document on air flow and cooling AMD cooling info indicates that their testing shows a front fan unnecessary, and sometimes harmful. Anyone have any evidence (or strong opinions) one way or the other. I'm particularly interested WRT Antec 282 with 303 PS.
