Antec "Fan only" connectors?

Does anyone know how to properly use the "fan only" connectors on the Antec Performance Plus line of cases? The manual says they are adjusted depending to thermal conditions.

I believe I have to connect a thermal cord from the PSU to the mobo for it to work properly, otherwise the fans don't spin very fast.

Should I just connect them to standard 4 pin connectors and have them run full speed?

The point of the special "fan only" connectors is noise reduction. The fans in the power supply and fans connected to the "fan only" plugs should speed up as case temp rises. Try it both ways, test your temps with the fans connected to the regular and "fan only" connectors. If your temps get to high with the temp control then use the regular plug.

I don't use the connectors on mine. It takes alot of heat for the fans to spin up to normal speed. A couple of review sites have commented on it.

TruePower tries to keep temps between 30-40 C based off it's temp sensor (inside the power supply). The Fan Only connectors go off of this as well.

That's idiotic IMO. Who the hell has a case temp of 40C. I guess people on the equator with no AC would have that. This is the reason why the PSU is so quiet. The fans never speed up because the temperature trigger is set too high.

I'd rather have the choice of having temp controlled fans or non-temp controlled fans (you could possibly modify the thermistor I'm guessing as well, so it leaves some room open for that as well)

There's other plugs to use if you dont like the feature

On the topic of the quiet power supply-- A quiet warm p/s is better than a loud cool p/s, since its an outtake (in my case at least) it won't matter too much how hot the power supply is (unless it has no fans hehe)
