Antec LED case fans for 9.52 shipped

Saw this deal on f@twallet. Antec case fans in blue and tri-light for $9.52 shipped. Good deal considering everywhere else I've seen sells them for $14.95. Wish I saw this deal a couple days earlier, I just bought two of them at fry's at full price. But I picked up another 3 for my case The fans are very well lit, beats that $10 rope light I bought at Target a couple weeks back.

Picked me up a couple as well. I was gonna buy these from Newegg along with a case. Good thing I didn't as they charge more and they actually add more shipping for these small fans even though I am buying a big heavy case.

Anyone think two of these can replace a cold cathode light? Someone wrote that in the newegg reviews.

They have lots of other fans, coolers, etc. for excelent prices. I ordered a couple of round EIDE cables...in my mailbox 3 days later! Memory & CPU prices are OK, but their accessories $ are the best I've seen. Big selection and detailed descriptions.

I bought these fans, they are "OK". The quality of the fans are not the same as the Antec ones, you can just look at the way the Antec ones are constructed vs the "generic" ones at SVC, just the wiring alone. The Antec comes with 4 pin molex and also 3 pin molex for the fan rpm monitor.

SVC is great store, but I actually own the SVC led fans and I'm going to replace them with the Antec ones I've just ordered from Buy.com.

For those of use not interested in the color properties of the fans, it there any advantage to
the Antec? My objective is to cool my computer as effectively and quietly as possible. Even
ignoring the LEDs, the SVC fans look like quite a buy. Specs on noise and airflow look quite
comparable. The photo clearly shows both the 3 and 4-wire connectors on the SVC, so were
you comparing the same fan? I was considering the similar SVCs for $4.99, which include
a thermal control.

From the pics I've seen, the Antec type with LEDs on the outside look much better than those with the LED in the center.

Those special fans are light accelerated and the color LEDs are there just helping fans run faster. Poor guy got so confused.

I would venture to say similar, but the Tt offer the switching between blue to blue+red during activity (bicolor, not tri...well bi-led, I guess you could say red and purple.).
As far as brightness, I would assume that they are close but Antec would prolly pull ahead. (more leds)



As far as which looks better, the leds in the corners/sides of the antec allow the clear blades and housing to diffuse the light thus making the whole fan glow very bright.
As with the Akasa and others (center led placement), the center only glows, and dimly at that.

Here's a picture of the tri lite with a blue light similar to the antec one. The blue light (lower left) in the pic has 4 led's on the sides though compared to 3 for the antec one. Also the higher left-side fan is one of those svc fans with leds in the center hub, and as you can see those kind are not nearly as bright. Though they do cool about as well, especially the ones that are either temp or manually controlled.

The 4 led blue light is only here that I know of. Only difference from the antec is it comes with a grill, and of course and extra blue led. The 4 led ones are on sale now for 10.99, but no free shipping. They are made by the same maker who makes the center led fans that svc sells, cre air. They also have the multi color ones too.
