Antec LED case fans for 9.52 shipped

arent these things pretty annoying? what about power usage? isnt it a waste of electricity?

LawBeefaroni, since these LEDs are on the outside frame of the fan rather than in the center, you'll be able to see the lights whichever way you have 'em facing.

vladgur, do you realize how little current it takes to light up an LED? Trust me, you're not wasting electricity. I'm not sure what you'd consider "annoying" about them. Look at the pics people have posted, and the reviews. You'll see what they look like, isn't much room for interpretation there. Figure out from those if these are something you'd want.

Me, I'm definitely keeping my two. One for an exhaust fan in the back (won't be able to see it until I get a case window), and another as an intake behind my Spider-Man fan grill.

Annoying to my wife maybe.. hehe With 4 18,000MCD "super bright" led's on each fan in my case I have added less than 1/10 of an amp to power consumption.

As I mentioned before the place where I work basically created and set the standards for led signal lights... heres why.
In the first year of use they saved the place I work at 88,000 dollars in Utilities cost in a single medium sized district in the first year. In places like LA you can multiply that by 4 or 5 or even more depending on power costs. Another fine advantage is that now you can use battery backups to light signals when the power goes out for up to 5 hours. Instead of an hourly/monthly/ change out of red and green and yellow lights it is assumed the leds wil last a minimum of 7 years maybe even 10.

From the same people who have brought you this type of savings you can now in some areas find LED light bulbs that push out gobs of light at a 10th of the amps currently used. Unfortunately these are still costly up front. between 30 and 40 per bulb.. however the 10 year life span low power consumption and drop in replacement probably offsets this cost quite a bit.
Imagine if you will a house that needs 3 solar panels on a rotating track to power the whole house.

Dang dude thats a freaking cool idea. Signal shop? I didn't even know there was such a thing. Where would I look under in the phone book, signals? I wonder if I could get part of a broken set (which probably has some working LEDs in it) for free

Devistater: Most county or city yards have a signal crew. Some hire out to contract work. For example if some idiot gets drunk and knocks down the left turn light at main st. and 5th ave.. someone has to repair it. Generally speaking they have a shop somewhere that's responsible for maintenance and repairs on that post. This only works if your state/county/city has changed over to LED signals hehe.

Thanks ozone - I had signed up for their product notification but you beat them to the punch. You simply cannot beat $8. I bought one when the first went on sale with the intention of putting it on my "blowhole", but ended up using that one as my rear case fan instead. It looks so cool that I decided I needed another one for the blowhole now. I think I have 6 fans now too (if you include my vid card fan, CPU fan & chipset fan). Hehe.
