Antec Low Noise Technology questions?

Going to buy a new PS because my fans in my old PS died. I tried to replace the fans but for some when I tried to open the PS the casing touched something and shorted it out. I working trying to fix it but with over $1000 invested into my computer, I just don't trust it. Anyway.... The only brands that the stores near me carry is Antec. I know they make a good PS but I had some trouble with them one time (didn't respond to warranty replacement emails). Got some reviews on their True Power 550 and seems like some people don't like their Low Noise Technology because it doesn't keep a good case temp. Anyone have any problems with it cooling wise or anything else? Need to buy one tonight so I need some responses kinda fast.

I like the Antec TruePower PS. I run a True330. Very quiet. No complaints.

Its true about the Antec True power series, the PSU's fans run low in order to keep the noise level down. The reviews on Anandtech for powersupplies were quite favorable towards Antec True Power Series.

Keep in mind, if you're a hard core gamer, future video cards with require a lot more juice and 350 watt powersupply might be the minimum.

You could put a blow-hole on the top middle of your case with a quiet panaflow to exhaust that warm air.

Yeah, I'm going to try and get the 550watt PS so I have plenty of room to play with. And it is only $119 at the store. I'd order in online but like I said I need it now.

Yep, and when hooked up to the "Fan-Only connectors," the case fans almost never go full load (which I suppose is good management).

Antec is the only brand I buy these days (excluding the PSUs that occassionally come with the cases I buy). I'm very fond of my 430w TruPower, very high quality. Not sure who makes these for Antec, but I don't think it's either Channel Well or Herolchi, whom has been supplying PSUs to Antec for years now.

I'm surprised that you had such trouble with their customer service. Been dealing with them for years and they've always been very responsive. I had pp352x that died on my last year. They were really quick with my RMA and even did a follow-up.

Maybe the newer units are better, but I have an Antec 510w with the low noise fan technology - it was still very loud, and I replaced it with a temp-controlled Coolermaster case fan, and it's a LOT quieter..

I run a computer business and don't put anything BUT Antec PSUs in my workstations! They're tops. Reliable, powerful and quiet. What more can you ask for?
