We pride ourselves on the many satisfied customers that we have.

All the NeoHE Power Supplies use iether the Matsushita or Jun Fu & Rulycon.

We do not use Fuhjyyu Caps in our NeoHe as of July 1,2006!

We are dedicated to putting out a superior product.

We trust that in the future you will join the many satisfied Antec customers world wide.

Matsushita I'm not sure of.

Jun Fu I'll have to check on.

Rulycon is a poor Chinese knock-off of the highly respected Nipponese capacitor RubyCon.
It's sad because Rulycon are a joke amoungest repair techs.

So what you are saying, is all the CWT built PSUs will continue to be populated with Fuhjyyu capacitors. *shakes head*

You guys are abusing a loyal customer base.

Antec has $queezed the dimes out of CWT. They build all the other Antec PSUs. Bad stuff.

Believe either Anwec rep if you wish...I sure don't.

Channel Well? CWT? So far as I know they are decent... but not built for longevity?

You may be very bright in other areas Praxis but I'm way ahead of you here...OK.

I will discuss this post with my repair tech buddies in the AM. Most have been in the game
20+years. One is in his late 70s and lives in Perth, Au. and he is sharp.

Because Antec's volume is so large, they can $ueeze the pennies out of CWT

Praxis I think you are quite young. I can not talk to you and a rep at the same time.

So please take over this thread. You seem to need the attention, little boy.

WTF he just edited it...?

What's with the attitude? I'm not asking you to "talk" to me. Was wondering what CWT was and asked if it was Channel Well. you could've responded at any time you like... I'm bright enough that you don't need to explain things to me like I was 5... wtf is with the attention? And yea I don't know ****** about caps and didn't mention that I did. But I do read a decent amount I'll get it ina while... And yea I'm young I guess 14...

I still have my 350W Antec SmartPower PSU from 2000 - powering my parent's hand-me-down XP 1800+ computer. Still going strong - and still very QUIET.

Since then I've purchased two TP 480 Blues - and they haven't even skipped a beat.

I'm sure there are other possibilities out there - but Antec's been hard to beat in my case... especially when they go on sale!

I've also had no problem with Antec power supplies in the many years I've used them both personally and for customers.

I don't get the whole smear campaign you are trying to pull, GalvanizedYankee.

PianoMan, e-machines in A/Ced homes don't count.

Go back 5 of my posts. Read that linked thread, to include the internal links...all of them.
I rest part of my case.

I'm not pulling anything. Why did AntecTechLevel4 have to edit his post??
Answer: Because at first he told the truth

Please Google Antec leaking caps or Fuhjyyu caps Crazyfool. Please, then read.

If the cheap AX Fortrons are a 5, the Antecs are a 3+
Zippy, Delta and PCP&C would be 9~10.

Let's see... four pcs... all with Antec PSUs... Oldest one is 300w unit from 2000 that is still running rock solid. Main rig running TP550 24/7... pc last rebooted 28 days ago... file server with TP430 running six hdds... never crashes. I value stability and have been very happy with Antec PSUs. Now my IBM deathstars... 8 dead drives later... that's another story. GY, if you have uncovered a scheme to foist an inferior product on the unsuspecting tech community then fight the good fight. I am all for your crusade in ridding the world of leaky capacitors everywhere (note: I am still using Abit mobos with no leaky capacitors). Bless you.

Wait for the Corsair PSU to get released next month.

I'm not sure who makes them but I think it might be everything you're looking for.

Glad to hear it. Did you recap it yourself or did OK Wolf do it for you J/K

With Antec we have the TruePower, TruePower II and the SmartPower 2.0 to consider

To the poor, long suffering OP: soydios, for $120 you can do alot better than the NeoHE 550. http://www.ewiz.com/ has the Enermax Liberty 500W at $108 and the 600W Liberty at $151. Ewiz has the FSP Group 600W GLN at $134. The Enhance ENS-0560G will Froogle at $120..

I think you are going over the top for wattage. Look to a good 500W unit and be done with it. Only SLI/CrossFire needs more than a good 500 watter.

Look to the 400~500W units from the brands listed above. I bet a 400W Liberty would carry your system well and the 500 would just cover future up-grades.
You might look at the Enhance ENP-5150GH at ewiz for $69. It's 80Plus certed.

Nope. Wasn't a sample either. Bought it from ASI.

Now the non-Seasonic Antecs, I agree. There's a huge problem.

Ok, Seasonic S12-600 versus Antec NeoHE 550. Just to remind you all of my upgrade plans, the system will be running 4GB of DDR2-800 once Vista comes out, and possibly an X1900 CrossFire setup. Below are the amperages, and I'm wondering if the Antec NeoHE 550 could run the above system. I'm willing to give Antec a shot, since their NeoHE line, as you all say, is now using higher quality capacitors and is even made by Seasonic. The modular cables are a big plus for me.

Seasonic S12-600
Antec NeoHE 550

This thread has become very intersting, by the way...

Wait a month and get the Corsair. It's a VERY nice unit.

I could be a shill and say wait two months and get the 800W Ultra X3, but I couldn't get APFC and 800W working in the same box w/ a 135MM fan. I get the feeling that outside of price, output power and modular cables it might not meet your criteria.

This is good news to hear, but since it's so recent, how can one tell an older model from the reversion? I want to buy one if the quality is infact better, but I don't want to be stuck with the old one

Note: He said the NeoHE series. These are built by Seasonic to Antec's price point. The spec can change when Antec wants to draw $5 more out of the product by using lesser caps.

Even Seasonic is not using all Japanese capacitors in it's builds, just the most important of the higher stressed caps will be the real good'ens. The smaller caps might be CapXon or something similare. Not the best but VG for thier purpose.

All the other Antec PSUs are built by CWT and they still use the crappy Fuhjyyu caps. These are generally purple in color and don't seem to live long healthy lives.
These units are the TP, TP II and the Smart Power units.

Very informative thread. Do you know how the Enermax Liberty 500W fairs? Its my alternative to the Antec HE 500.

Also if the Antec HE's got a little upgrade as of July 1st, any way to guarantee one is buying a new model? Any version number change?

The Enermax Liberty 500W is a VG unit. Fairly quiet, stable & modular.
It will produce a noise at cold power-up called coil ignition and it's OK as it's part of the APFC.

The Fortron Epsilon 600W is also very good but is not modular.

The Enhance ENP-5150GH is a super deal at $69 from http://www.ewiz.com.
Specs http://www.enhanceusa.com/ certed at http://www.80plus.com/

Since the NeoHEs are built by Seasonic to Antec's price point...I'd just buy a Seasonic

I don't know how soon you want a PSU. The new semi-modular M12 Seasonics should be out soon.

In another month several new goodies in the PSU world will enter the arena.

Some Antecs are ok, some are horrible. I luckly got a TPII 550 EPS, which is really stable. But other friends and sources have told me horror stories about the crap that happened with their power supplies, and how they got screwed over from the support. I know about the bad units, so Ive kept a good eye on my voltages incase of crap... But my next PSU for my next build is definitly goning to be a Seasonic, Fortron, or Enhance.
