Antec of Chieftec?

Hi all,

I'm thinking about buyin a new computer case and power supply

For the power supply, what should I choose: Antec or Chieftec?

Does anyone have experience with the Antec TruePower series? Or do the all just work great?

Well the cases are almost excatly the same, but i dont know about the power supplies.

I think Antec is a more trustable company, more well known, so i would choose them

Antec and chieftec cases are made in the same factory in Taiwan or wherever. Same company. You can get a crazy aluminum one with a window...it's much better than the steel antec SX1030 or SX1040. They also come in all sorts of colours. Click here to see my rig with this case.

UNEEC also makes a simlar case. The ATX-501AW Midtower. And they also have good power supplies.

But what makes Antec so great is their steel construction and their new TruePower power suppy; which is not only a very stable source of power, but it helps to keep the noise down by lowering the fans RPM's when the systems tempatures go down. They call it Antec's Low Noise Technology.

I'm buying the Antec Performance Plus 660 Mini Tower case ($101.00) for my next build using a P-4 Northwood @ 533 mhz bus. Since the cost difference is less then $20.00, why not?

go with the antec power supply. i don't believe chieftec makes psu's, only antec clone cases.

The chieftech dx-01 and the antec sx1040 both use the cwt-420

chieftec does not make "clone" antec cases... chieftec is the supplier that antec uses for their cases.... chieftec branded cases come with virtually any brand of PSU... it really depends on the vendor. In fact I have an "Enermax" badged chieftec case with an Enermax PSU. The cases are all identical except for color schemes.

I am sure there are some retailers out there, who trade-out the normal Antec power suppy for another brand, but here is the information Antec provides on their Power Supplies.

Even though there is No CWT-420 in the entire lot; the CWT-420 is the Antec PP412X!. And although, Antec's old line of power supplies were renamed CWTs, the new TruePower series is a different type of construction all together. Only Enermax makes anything even close.

i bought a chieftec case a short while ago from newegg and also have a antec trupower430 to go in it. lotsa power but my dualie Asus XP1700+ demands nothing less...

I have an antec power supply in my hand now that was built by Herolchi i don't know if they are a division of antec or not but i'd put money on it that they are not. the power supply dosen't work with my motherboard though so i'll probably get a sparkle
