Although I am new here, I have been reading the posts for about 6 months and all the reviews on all components. Finally time to stop reading and start building. So my video card is on the way and figured I will start with a case. People on this board are great, I will sure need their help, and hopefully I can return the gained knowledge from this build back.
Selected the Antec P160. Was looking for a case with good air flow, good reviews, not too flashy, and no window. Did not like the style of Lian-Li cases, the PC60B+ was my original choice but decided it was over-complicated for my needs especially with that special CPU duct. Went looking for prices and Amazon has the best price(free shipping knocks off every competitor) of 119. I guess the big discounters like newegg can't compete on heavy items.
Want to add a front 120mm case fan. Previous posts from owners of this case mentioned that only a 25mm fan would fit in the front, that rules out Panaflo. Not sure if the rear can take any bigger either. The supplied rear fan is rpm:1600 CFM:56 dbA:28. So if the front case has a filter therefore airflow restricting, shouldn't I get a front fan that exceeds the rear CFM in order to not build up too much negative case pressure? Was planning on replacing the rear at the same time while I'm at it.
Any suggestions? Was looking at the Nexus and Yate Loon. Not sure how I am going to hook these fans up. If I buy a hardware fan speed controller then can't I buy high speed fans and slow them down until my temps and noise are good or would a software controller be better? I am not concerned with the costs as long as it is for a good reason and not too excessive.
Thanks for your help.
