Hello everyone, This is a three question post.

1- I will be getting an Antec P180 case and wonder how long the SATA and IDE cables need to be for mounting HD's in lower bay and 2 opticals in top.

2- I bought the Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 that has transfer rates of 3.0Gb/s however I can only seem to find cables that transfer at 1.5Gb/s. Am I looking for the wrong cable?

3- I only have 1 HD for now but plan on adding another next year. Can I buy the two part cables that hook up 2 hd's and not use the second one for now or do I need to use the ones for only one HD?

3.1- Sorry, one more. Round or flat? I have read some threads that say round causes signal problems.

Thanks for the help.

1. It will vary based on your motherboard, but honestly I have no idea.

2. All SATA cables support all SATA transfer speeds.

3. SATA cables service one drive only. As for "PATA"/IDE/whatever cables, yes you can leave one spot on the cable open with no problems.

3.1. Round IDE cables technically violate the spec, and are more likely to have crosstalk problems. For CD and DVD drives, they work fine. For hard drives, they almost always work fine.

1)Most newer Antec PSU's will work fine. I ran Antec Truepower 2.0 and Seasonic S12 in mine with no problems.

2)I am not sure on this one, but my SATA II drive is run with a cable that is labeled SATA II Signal.

3)Not exactly sure what you are asking.

3.1)I use rounded cables and they work great and they dont hinder airflow as much as the flat cables.

I was looking for the wrong cable. Was searching for SATA instead of SATA II. http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/...zenid=7203257891acac9b7b0adc049aea06e1

Now I'm noticing the new cables come with a metal latch to connect to HD http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/...zenid=7203257891acac9b7b0adc049aea06e1 , even the power cable. http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/...zenid=7203257891acac9b7b0adc049aea06e1 Does anyone know if this is true? Do I need to get an adaptor for the Molex power connector? If so would anyone with knowledge about the Antec P180 tell me the length of the SATA II cable I'll need from HD in lower bay to MoBo. What about this all in one set up? http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/...zenid=7203257891acac9b7b0adc049aea06e1
