Antec P280, $80 AR @ NCIX

I got in on it, but didn't post it because I guess I assumed it wasn't "hot." Didn't realize it was - but my bank denied the charge because NCIX is based out of Canada. Hope it was ah old and not an actual denial, but I won't know until tomorrow.

This series of case has never had a side panel fan. The panels are made to dampen noise, and a hole for a fan would ruin that effect.

Could you still order it while it's on backorder and get the rebate? I guess if they don't charge your card until it ships that would make the rebate invalid?

As long as you have the receipt showing your purchase date before the 2nd along with the SKU sent in by the date (6/2) then you should get it. Really depends on what the receipt shows though.

I'm just going to rant here about NCIX and purchasing from them in the US.

If you use their credit card function - you're charged from Canada. This means 1) possible foreign transaction fee and 2) you will need to contact your bank and have it authorize the charge or it'll be flagged as fraud (since it's foreign and you don't have foreign transactions auto-authorized, right?) and delay your purchase longer. Now, say you want to avoid this route and utilize PayPal - great! Except they require your address be "verified." Now, I'm not sure what PayPal might consider verified besides a linked CC (and I had THREE CC's linked to my home address where I wanted to ship to) and it STILL told NCIX that my address wasn't verified for some stupid reason. NCIX told me to call PayPal - uh, fat chance. How about you just start charging credit cards through the US? They're now on my very short do-not-purchase-from vendor list. Oh, and if you want to ship to a different address? Yah, you have to fax them a form with the address on it - and they claim my different address wasn't on file with my bank when I verified it to begin with.

And this is because I tried to get this deal last week (Friday) and today. My only interest was in the P280 from them.

I feel your pain. I just cancelled my order for the P280. My transaction was held up too since I use a different shipping address. This address is on file with my cc company, they gave me the fax line too. I just said cancel my order. If I had not called, I would never had known why my order was held up in the first place. Will be my first and last dealings with NCIX.
