Antec RMA policy

Hi,

I'm not sure of the general policies of hardware RMA's, but I seem to be SOL with a burnt out antec power supply which I purchased about a year ago. I communicated with the RMA department via e-mail, but they refuse to accept my RMA as I can't find my reciept. Anyone have any luck getting antec, or any company, accept an RMA when you didn't have the receipt?

The only other item I've ever RMA'd was a couple of WD hard drives, whereby I had absolutely no issues, as WD seems to keep track of shipping dates, so the can interally confirm you're within warranty.

As soon as I know for sure that i'll have no chance for an RMA, i can open this sucker up and see if the issue is something obvious.

So, anyone have any advice aside from buying another?

Most warranty service requires a recipt (and/or registration of the product), hard drives are one of the few exceptions. Saving receipts in an organized system (like a file folder box + folders) is a good habit to learn.

If you open it up, beware the deadly high-power caps.

Did you buy it online? If so, the e-tailer you bought it from would have the receipt (i.e. the invoice) on file for you to print.

Wow, this board is fast.

I'll make sure I keep all my product info from now on. Unfortunately i purchased this as fry's, and so i don't have any email confirmation.

I have another possibility though. The power supply stopped working after a power outage, and this computer was connected through an APC surge protector which offers however many thousands of dollars of protection. I'm not sure if they'd require you to register the surge protector (once again, i don't have the receipt), but has anyone used APC's equiptment protection policy successfully?

*EDIT - err, to use the protection one must register within 10 days of purchase. I lose.

only time I've dealt with Antec was for my 24-20 pin adaptor that had a loose pin, they mailed me a new one in less than a week. Can't you just get someone w/ the same ps w/ a reciept?

I had an ANtec PSU die last yr...I checked my credit card and found the retailer...website..they still had a my invoice..Fry's maybe able to reprint a receipt

hmm, I'm thinking I need to go back to fry's and have them print my recipt so I have something to fall back on just in case...

Antec support is cool.

The 4 rubber case feet on my Antec 3700BQE peeled off a long time ago, since then I lost the case feet. So the other day I decided to give Antec an email, next day they replied asking for my address, and they said they'd ship out new ones for free! How cool is that? (nobody better abuse this tho, or i'll have u lynched)
