This case is one of the nicest pieces of case engineering I've seen. The drive bays snap in place, and it's easy to access them when you mount new hardware or need to make any changes.

Yep. About two days ago, I tried "www.fries.com" when I saw that. Took me to the old Fry's page. Now, www.frys.com takes me to the "outpost" (new Fry's) page.

Excellent deal on a great case. I have an original Sonata and it is quality throughout.
I like the 450W PS and the shroud that directs CPU cooling out the back on the Sonata II.

If I didn't not need one, I might jump.
As it is, I just bought a new ASRock board to improve OC over my ECS K8T890 from Fry's. (3800 dual core combo)

Sonata is overrated imo. I just bought a Sonata II from Newegg. The door broke off and it's not nearly as quiet as I had hoped. Sure looks nice though

Also, both Newegg and Tiger Direct have some pretty good mobo/cpu deals going on regularly. I just picked up a 2.4ghz single-core A64 + Biostar board for $99; TD had some 3.2ghz Celerons with boards for the same price. Also got a 320gb drive for like $95. DVD burners are like $30 now. Only thing that has really gone up is ram, $200 for 2gb So you can build a pretty powerful computer with a nice Sonata case for around $500...worked for me!

Mine is soooo quiet.Put the rear fan on medium and you can hardly hear it.What do you use to cool your cpu?Maybe thats making the noise.I also took out the vent piece because it didn't line up too good with my cpu fan.Stay away from 80mm fans they are loud,your better off with a bigger one that spins slower.My door is still on and I have little kids.

In stock @ Downer's Grove IL Fry's. They had a good 7 or 8 on the shelf. Also 3 repacked/returned orange tag ones for $75 or $76. Didn't seem like it was worth the few dollars to buy a returned item. Anyway. Under $86 out the door is even cheaper than shipped from Newegg, even after the rebate.

why do so many people love this case... the paint job? the cooling duct? the sale price? the lock? the hard drives mounted sideways is so fugly [and prevents good cable management].

the slk3000b is MUCH better designed.
