I just bought the SX1040 for $126.32, I couldn' go for the SX1240 for $140.95, wouldn't fit in the plain... lucky Americans(g)

So now I got everything I want, maybe not the black color, but white will do the job... there is no such thing like the sx 1040b... Sux...

I purchased my SX-840 from upgrade source. I am going to buy 5 very quiet fans for each case to replace the 80's that came with it. Then with the quieter fan I put on my FOP-38, I shouldn't be able to hear it.

They have the SX-1030 for $83.42 which is my next purchase for a VP-6 which will be my server at home. I need some place to put my direcpc and wireless cards, so my son and I can play without interfering with my wife's shopping.

I'm assuming you are asking about the SX1030...the front door swings open on a hinge...it also locks.

I had a problem with the door,

When i had a device at the very top, the door would not close. It was getting caught on the faceplate of the cdrom i stuck.. so now i just leave that top bay open.

anyone else have this problem?

I have all the bays filled in my 1030 and have no problems closing the door. Maybe you need to mount your CD-ROM drive just a bit further back.

As for the removal of the door, I'm not sure...I don't remember off the top of my head...I'm at my office now and my 1030 is at home. Maybe someone else knows the answer to this. If no one posts a reply I will check tonight when I get home. By the way...if you don't want the door...go for the SX830 or the SX1240...you can check both cases out at Antec.

Yes the front door can be removed.
I built a system for a friend with the sx1030, he didn't like the idea of lockable door, so i took it off.
It just has a plastic tab.

how much was it? it was 130 bucks at the san diego frys last week, I got
the sx1240 off onvia for the same price.....they are such losers here,
always charging us more than in LA or the. Bay Area....

Did you really like the blue one that much? I saw it and thought it was kind of any ugly blue. Just my opinion. I would rather go with black or the traditional beige. Just my thoughts.

I dont think it was completely blue if I remember correctly. It was blue and black, the front was blue and the sides black? Well the blue color is like the bluish purple like on the linksys router but glossier and with little specs of metallic. I think its pretty hard to find a pic online though.

Great Case! This case has flexibilty written all over it. I purchased the 1030B from Onvia for $97.41 shipped. Antec 303x PS. I showed it to a friend of mine and he will probably buy one also.

i just found this at onvia as well. Its a 40 pack of sx1030 for $3456 so that works out to about $87 a case. So if you guys have about 20 friends who would want about 2 each...its a great deal. BTW here's the link HERE
