These cases are top of the line IMO. They are quite heavy so you know they are well built. I picked one up back in may I think. Anyways, I got mine from Onvia back when they had mad coupons floating around. Total came out to be $76, that included shipping and a new 3.5" floppy drive. Excellent case, haven't seen anything that feels as sturdy or that looks as good.

AMD issued certain specifications for PS to be used for their processors. If it is AMD certified it certainly would work for your Pentium. Nothing different about it, it just means that it is recommended by them.

Great Case! I'm using one myself, love at first sight man! =)

I'm using it w/ my Asus CUSL2 mobo, AMD approved means it's ok for both.

It' a bit heavy for LAN parties though I have to say, that's why I'm building a second system for LAN work. =)

Alright, can anyone confirm the free shipping at ChaseShop? I want to know, because Onvia is offering free shipping right now, but ChaseShop has the lower price, especially after the 5% chase discount. Are there any shopping reward programs out there giving kickback for buying at ChaseShop?

Yes chaseshop does offer free shipping, you have to signup first though. Then when you go to checkout it will be listed as one of the shipping options (free shipping, fedex 2nd day, ect).

yes, it's quiet enough for me to order my second one from onvia. This time it was only 67$ because they let me use a 25$ coupon that they owed me because of a mis-ship.

You also get an extra 5% off your order if you use a credit card issued by chase. I have one from Bell Atlantic that gives me an additional 1% to use towards my phone bill. (That 1% adds up fast in my case).

I tried ordering a SX830 case from ChaseShop about 10 days ago, and they cancelled that part of my order due to stocking problems (without notifying me) and just sent me the 80mm fans that I had ordered to go in the case. Half a dozen emails and 2 phone calls never got me any sort of a response. I was very disappointed with this service. So now I have random fans sitting here homeless. *sigh* So, this week, I am ordering one of the SX1030 cases from them to see if perchance it gets here. Fingers crossed.

This is just a warning that you may not get what you want from Chase.

On the upside, they have the Antec Card Coolers for $10.06, which is a really good deal if you need some extra cooling on your OC'ed video card. Whirring happily along in my current case, and the noise level is pretty low.

Ordered from Chaseshop on the 16th. Called today to check order status. Chaseshop canceled my order because the case was out of stock. CSR said they sent an e-mail on the 17th. Never received the e-mail. Ordered from Onvia today.

The two front fans are optional for both models.
I think if you want it you need to pay extra.
This is my 2$

I just got off the phone with 'Francisco' from Chaseshop. He says they did not receive their order from their distributor and that the order will probably be canceled. I asked him if they know when the next shipment will be and he replied with a negative. So, this deal is dead. Going the way of Onvia like the rest...

aah and I actually canceled my onvia order for this ..

anyways,

It's much less of a hotdeal but these SX1030 cases are in stock here, simply do a search for item 472237TD. The price is $86.13, UPS ground shipping is a additional $27.20. If only Techstore.com had any coupons available......

Hi all... I just ordered the SX1030 from Onvia. My question is ...Is this a noisy case since it is vented and has lots of fans? I'm interested in a very quiet case but I need those extra ...

Thanks, Kirsten

I modified mine with a powerful 5" 120V fan in the side door to blow directly on my processor so I'm only going by memory from a couple of weeks ago. I remember being pleasantly surprised by the lack of noise when I first started it without the extra fan.

I ordered my case just before the first post in this thread (obviously! lol)

I received shipment of it yesterday. The packing was slightly worse for wear, but the case was OK. Awesome! Even better in the flesh. SCSI RAID here I come.

I haved 8 fans in sx1030 and I sleep about 10 feet away from it Quietest case I've ever had, especially considering the air I'm moving in it. The fan in front of the hard drive bay is awesome. My Maxtor 7200 rpm drive was typically fairly warm to the touch in my last Entec 3270? case, now it's actually cool to the touch. Not even lukewarm. Same with my p3-700 oc to 933. Just like speakers ... the case lasts through the everchanging components, so it is worth the money to buy one that will last and have enough room for anything you throw at it. Bought mine for $91 - $25 at Onvia a while ago. In addition to having the fan in front of the HD bay, the 1030 also has an extra drive cage for 3.5 drives, as well as the ability to lock the front. I'm not sure if the 830 also has the side swing door that is lockable, but the 1030 has that as well. The entire side of the case opens with a handle and swings out. Heavy gauge metal too. Doesn't even begin to flex or bend. If you can't get the sx1030 for just under $100, then the 830 is an excellent alternative. Like everyone has said, it is the exact same size, just missing the extra hd bay, fan mount, lockable front, etc.

Alright, so ChaseShop cancels my order without even notifying me... they don't stock these anymore by the way either...

So, Onvia still has some...

But, looking at the SX1030 vs. the SX830, the SX1030 doesn't appear to have any removable faceplate windows for the 5.25 bays as the SX830 does. Now, does this panel pivet on a hinge like a door? I want to know, because I have several drives I need access to plus a SB Live Drive and am wondering if the door will even close if it is hinged, or if it's a faceplate whether I will even be able to get it on with the SB Livedrive knobs hanging out.

Score: Yes the front door pivots on a hinge. There is a good 1/2" clearance from the inside of the door to the front of the 5.25" drive bay fronts. It also has a tube locking system on the lower right hand side (just like the one on the side of the case).
