antec truepower 430w fan question

ok, so my comp is up and running, but now i get the beeping, and im like "wtf" it turns out that my ps fan is running really slow, is that ok? i mean, is it regulating itself ok?

also, im thinking of replacing the fans in there with red ones: (red theme), how does that change preformance, or does it?

I don't think it should be turning so slowly that it looks "lazy", however the TruePower has a temperature sensor installed which reduces the speed of the fan if the case temperature is low, and brings it up slowly if the case warms up. It may be that it's reading a low temperature and the fan speed is low enough to set off a warning.

Was it the board beeping, or monitoring software? If you check the BIOS during bootup or check the monitoring software, what speeds does it say the fan is at? Can you change the limit that will set off the warning?

Replacing the fans with similar performance rated fans won't change the performance of the cooling of the PSU. I haven't had a need to open mine up, so I'm not sure how the fans are connected or where the temperature sensor is, so you might run into some problems with that.

forget the red theamed fans you wont really see them in the ps any way. Go get yourself some panflo fans, that will make your ps quieter than it is now. if you really want red light in there go get some leds and wire them up to the inside.

is there a way to disable the regulating or buy the truepower without it? I was going to get one of these power supplies but I want the fan running full speed all the time.

The installation instructions for the trupower430 indicate that you may get a warning if you plug in the fan sensor. If you don't want the alarm to go off, either unplug the sensor or turn off the monitor.
