Neither. Aspire PSU's are just junk and that Antec PSU isn't really that good. The Fortron AX500-A is a better PSU and around the same price at actbuy.

Yes, it is just fine, but why get "just fine" when you can get a better PSU for the same? That Antec is a usable supply for moderately hungry systems, but the Fortron is better.

Between those two ... as everyone else said, the Antec is much better.
If you can find a better deal on an Enermax, they are an excellent brand as well.
I don't know Fortron ... so I can't comment on them.

Fortron is the best power supply maker out there, next to Seasonic and pc power and cooling. It is decently priced and Fortron actually makes their own psus, unlike other companies.

Antec is a good company when it comes to power supplies, but they are a notch below the above mentioned makers.

The top pc makers use Fortrons or Sparkles, which are the same companies, in their systems.

That is the reason why people with 250W power supplies in thier Dells can run a 6800GT or Ultra. Because they were made by Fortron/Sparkle.

Actually. People with ultra high end PC's use PC P & C's.. I haven't found a Fortron or Sparkle which could handle my server system yet.

Are you using that 850W PC P & C?

I don't think there is a power supply within $500 that can touch that one. 12a @ 115v :Q

But for regular high end pcs, a Fortron/Sparkle, Seasonic is the best way to go.

hehe, well I don't think 98% of pcs will ever need that much power.

i think the 850W is reserved for people with unlimited budgets or crazy out of the world components such as a dual Opteron setup, with SLI and 6 hard drives and all the other goodness

Sparkle FSP550-60PLG? Also remember Fortron/Sparkle are very conservative when it comes to specs.

I need at least 40A sustained 12V for the Hard drives alone to start up my server.

That 380W Seasonic is 80% efficient and has dual rails which are equal to a single 25A psu.

It is also silent.

So? The Fortron mentioned by raildogg is still a more capable PSU for less money.
