news in dallas just did a quick breaking news saying they found a package in reno nevada that tested positive for anthrax.

can't find anything on the front of any news sites, don't have cable...can anyone verify?

Suspicious Package Prompts Anthrax Scare

A suspicious package in Gentilly triggered an emergency response from hazmat crews Friday, but what a woman thought might be anthrax turned out to be laundry detergent.

A family in the 5300 block of Cameron Street received a package that was leaking a white powdery substance. The family called the fire department, the area was cordoned off, and the five people in the home at the time were taken into a tent and hosed down.

Hazmat crews suited up to retrieve the package, but after further investigation it was determined that one of the occupants of the home had forgotten she had ordered laundry detergent by mail.


But I guess we're better safe than sorry...

CARSON CITY-State health officials are analyzing a letter sent to Microsoft that appeared suspicious to employees.

By 3:00 pm, contents of the letter tested "presumptively positive" for anthrax.

Additional testing to confirm the presence of anthrax is ongoing and is expected to be complete by Saturday.

The contents of the letter had a number of things growing on it, like bacillus, the genus to which anthrax belongs.
