Someone was proposing to start another subteam or merge a couple of subteams just to beat TA cube in the daily's. Quite useless in my opinion.

Procyon for life is trying to form a team to smash TACube. He wants this to be a "psychological smash in Anandtech's face". They want to bring together some heavy crackers to do so.

Rico-Burn thinks it's not such a good idea. "Let TA be proud of their only mini team that's doing so well." And besides, do you have enough blocks to even try to defeat TACube ?

Procyon for life responds : yes, look at my stats. He asks once more if anybody is with him.

B-Force links to an earlier thread about getting several small subteams together in one large one. He thinks this is the best solution to beat TACube. "It should be cool if this large team is able to beat TACube".

aginor : I think DBC is already doing a retaliatory action.

[JJJ] : cool...

Dutchman is right!

One DPC miniteam proposed to get some smaller miniteams together to get higher daily rankings than the TA-Cube.

Procyon hereby wants to start psychological warfare against TA.

However, most of the DPC-reaction are against this idea.

And if so, I don't think it would hurt us in a bit.

It won't happen, most DPC'ers don't think that that is usefull

sorry, dit vind ik echt een triest plan.
laat AT trots zijn op dat ene subteampje van hun dat het zo goed doet !

[translationmode]
I'm sorry but I think this idea is really pitifull(Don't know if you write it like this but I hope you understand what I mean)
let AT be prout of the one subteam that's doing really well.

You know, this sounds a lot like Russ's opinion that the DPC are engaged in tactics to crumble our efforts. I must admit this sort of thing supports his position very clearly. I have noticed and voiced my concerns about DPC activity on our forum and in the IRC channel. I've noticed others commenting on it too (Kilowatt comes to recent memory!).

I'm sure there are actually members that visit us with no such intent (like Dutchman2000) but I have seen many posts to the contrary. The little gloats and stats references are constant. It has been said that only a few feel that way at the DPC and this post actually shows that too (lots of members against the idea who obviously have good honor). With a group as large as the DPC a few are plenty of people that can wage a tactical campaign of psychological warfare.

One thing is for sure, someone is always watching us on these forums and on IRC. I for one really don't like it.

I want to apologize to Russ, I believe he was right. There isn't much we can do about it unless it gets excessive, except ignore it. That and keep watching them too.

I say ignore them. They are beating us but who cares this is actually a good thing since we are steping up to the plate and increaseing our output we just need to keep on doing it and keep finding more loveable nuts like dennilfloss (sp?)to push us even fast

That would be a good idea, but hard to work with. We already have this forum and the IRC channel. I could see for planning and recruiting efforts a secure place would be good. Weather or not enough people feel it worth using is another question. I'd go just to have a place to talk where I know the DPC are not involved. I think it is sad that I have to do such a thing considering this is such a great forum and so is the IRC channel. It would facilitate the making of plans though since both email and PM limit the flow with exchange of ideas.

Ive kept fairly quiet on the DPC's in our forum because there are several valuable DPC members who post here. But I agree with MWalkden, Kilowatt, and others who have voiced their opinion. This DPC trolling has got to stop. Its not only ruining these forums, but tearing us apart as a team.

I agree that it is redundant. We simply can no longer discuss anything on this forum without it being in the open. This to me is somewhat like having a camera and mike for each opposing team in the huddle. Doesn't make much sense - especially when there are 'plans' involved. We need to develop at least something that we can communicate with membership in a secure manner.

i say let them try to do that. it'll just push us to crack more and more, and in the end their plan may turn against them. just my $0.02

Didn't we have a team newsletter at one point? While it might not be the best way to "plan" it is good for keeping everyone informed. As it seems like we have a few core members that do most of the planning, could they can get together in a DPC free area ( ) and plan things out a bit. Then whatever they're discussing could get passed along in the newsletter, perhaps with an email addy to set comments and questions too. Just an idea.

Moo -
There has been immense (for some unknown reason) objection in this forum to our contacting our membership. A vocal several call it spam. I've been trying to raise support, but it just ends in a flame-war. :|

No question, the DPC's understand the art of war.

Personally, I find all their attention to little 'ol TA Cube rather amusing.

I do not want to bud in to this discussion but doesn't this thread in itself prove that you are browsing our boards just like we are browsing yours ?

[just a thought mode]
My experience with secure planning: a 'secure' forum is not very usefull because there has to be some regestering procedure, if you set it to loose anybody can join, if you make it tight you are shutting out 99% of your team. We do have some good experience with private IRC channels apart from the regular team channel, created for the rare occasion where something truly 'need-to-know' stuff has to be discussed. Besides that IRC is way more practical and fast compared to a mailinglist.

Actually Dutchman2000 has the right idea. It isn't the intent to shut out the forum members and a 'on the spot' IRC (secure) channel is a way to discuss matters privatly if needed. We want our members to be involved (or at least I do) and as a group they have found things to work on to supply means to expand/attract to TA DC projects.

A private place to discuss things has value and could work for us in some areas. Those that are IRC savy know it is easy to make a private channel just for that purpose. There are a slew of IM tools that work too.

I think it is something we should do on a project by project basis. If it needs private attention then we supply the ability. Otherwise we just use the forum like we do now. Sound good?
