I just got a new work laptop (HP something-or-other, with 15" screen), and it has the glossy screen which has sadly become standard on laptops these days.
My desk has a window behind me, and the glossy screen reflects everything, giving me a headache.

Is there some kind of anti-glare sheet i can stick on the screen?
As it is a work laptop, i dont have much choice in the machine, but i need to do something about it...

And who the hell thought these damn glossy screens were a good idea?!?!!

I have one of each type, and prefer the non-glossy Lenovo screen to my HP glossy. The window behind you can be a problem, but a few things might help. Try changing the vertical angle slightly. Alsok, try a slight horizontal angle change.

I believe there are glare shields, but I've never used one. You can also make a gizmo like this out of cardoard and try it . . . Spray paint it flat black and fasten with some velcro dots.

haha, that'd be fun...

I've moved it about, and it helps, but i cant get rid of the glare/reflections in my office..

Everything that i've seen is sold as a "privacy filter", but i dont know how much (any?) they do to cut down on glare. anyone use them? i dont really need the privacy feature, but if it kills the glare, it'll be worth it.

glossy screens certainly arent "sharper". They may be OK for a desktop monitor (and thats debatable), but in a laptop its the stupidest idea i've seen in years.

I got a privacy filter, i can flip it around so its either glossy or matte looking (3M brand). I have noticed the privacy filter does nothing for me for reducing glare when I use my laptop outdoors.

you might want to try the anti-glare sheets from photodon. they're highly recommended in the mac community.

i just ordered one for my samsung x360. hope it's good.

Got it and it worked great. Really helps with the annoying reflections.

I got the MXT anti-glare model.

Have you tried to google it. Let me google that for you.

that's irrelevant if you can't see the image or a matte image gives you
higher productivity.

i had the same problem with a 1080p monitor, a Samsung 32".

the only COTS (commercial off the shelf) were some anti-glare screens
that were sold as accessories & were pretty expensive.
