These protests are mostly a good opportunity for people to connect with like-minded citizens in their local community, which will be important.

When I was at BLM protests in Philly when anyone sounded like they were going get out of hand the crowd shouted them down.

Crowds need to self police.

The only thing protestors should do is make sure they're also carrying American flags too. Don't let the fascists try to take the patriot mantle, and it will make for visually stunning imagery when people carrying American flags are inevitably arrested for protesting.

Pictures and videos from a No Kings protest I attended in Philadelphia at Independance Hall. My guess there were around 400-500 people. People who organized spoke. There will be more events in the future and attendees have vowed to being others with them.
