that is not uncommon

after WoW and before SC2 they went almost 6 years only releasing a wow expansion every 2 years

I just played KOTOR 1 again and am installing KOTOR 2. They were fun but 2 was so full of issues that it killed the franchise. We should have finished the trilogy many years ago.

Republic Commando was supposed to be awesome but came across as lame. Starfighter was too little, too late. Galactic Battlegrounds was uninspired. X-wing alliance was good but for some reason the space sim line died around that time.
Star Wars is not automatic gold. It has to be done correctly or it risks alienating the fans.

Star Wars games used to be consistently awesome, it's only recently that they have become bad. Tie Fighter is my favorite game of all time.

I'm pretty interested in Shogun 2 as well, although my meticulous research on the title indicates that it will be a more "condensed" total war game with respect to grand strategy. Not sure how I feel about that. Seems like it may start Creative Assembly on the current PC trend towards more arcadey games that sell primarily based on graphics rather than gameplay.

I forgot about Space Marine! It sounds cool, but I'm not that impressed by the game play video I've seen.

I don't know the specifics, but they overreached bigtime with Empire, there was just too much tedious crap to deal with and it left a lot of people feeling burned. I (hope) this means it will be a more scaled down version a la Napoleon.

Leave in the good stuff and discard the fluff.
