"Poisoning the well" only applies when the original party is making an evidence-based argument (for example, I personally don't think its directly relevant where a climate-change rejecting scientist gets their funding, as long as what they are saying stays within the bounds of normal science).

But in this case we are just talking about political rants, not reasoned arguments. Hence the nature of the person saying it is of direct relevance and the 'poisoned well' argument is not applicable.

For me an ideology that actively supports violence to suppress or intimidate other ideologies would be extremist. It of course becomes tricky when I realize that our own government uses violence or the threat of violence to keep itself going. In reality, violence or force is required to keep any government running. I suppose the metric that indicates that the force is not extremist is the number of people in that society that accept/support it. Extremist then would be defined as the relatively popularity of that ideology in that society. By that metric, support of Sharia law would not be an extremist view in much of the Middle East but it would certainly be here.

There probably is not a universal extremist, just extremists in the context of the society in which they reside.

If the situations where reversed and antifa (or/and any other left extremist group) scheduled a protest with neo-nazists trying to suppress them, I would undoubtedly condemn them just as harshly. That's how a centrist deals with such a situation, allowing either group to express themselves while keeping a watch on both.
