Well for one he's spent billions on trying to reboot a dead industry that doesn't even want to stay alive to give people some scraps. Regulation on the free market is what socialism is and instituting grants to certain players on that market is not just socialism, it's corrupt socialism a la Putin. Support your local oligarch today if you know what I mean.

Despite the common idea that socialism has to do with welfare for the poor or elderly getting food when they need it that is not the case, socialism is the regulation of a free market. In a mixed economy like the US market socialism is the degree of regulation.

You can note that the US has fallen about ten places on the market freedom index and is now on the same grounds as France, far beyond much more capitalist nations like the UK, Canada, Sweden and Germany.
