It's done. Not in beta.

Just checked this one earlier this AM, they need to update the page then... As of this morning 8.1 is the current XP version, 8.2 is the Vista compliant one. It may be finished, but I don't see a try now link to it or anything. Probably holding out until the 30th on it or closer to.

Ok, just point me to a public statement /link on the ca.com website that their A/V is vista-ready and downloadable. I'll bet there isn't.

There is.

"*AV 7.1 is compatible with Vista. Will not be "Certified" until final Vista release is available"

I'm referring to their public A/V product info page that you get when looking for info on the product before buying, not digging into their support pages... and BTW, latest release of the a/v standalone is listed as 8.1 right on the info page, and DOES NOT list Vista as a supported op system. And as far as that goes, most comparatives show CA being rather poor in detection rates..
I can tell you're the kind like an old boss of mine, in a difference of opinion as long as he was 1% right, then by god he had won.. Have fun buddy hehe.

Dude, I'm not out to be right here. The OP is looking for some antivirus and I'm telling you one that works. It's the same AV that MS uses internally and it's working great. There are others I'm quite sure. If you want to split hairs and bicker about it then I quit, you win.
It's not my fault you don't know how to search so don't get pissy at me. I was just trying to be helpful.

Whole point here is that I said it was in beta, you said oh no its not anymore... I simply asked where on the ca.com a/v product info page that it says that their 8.1 A/V (most current) is listed with Vista being one of the supported O/S. The product info page does not state that at this point, look at the list of O/S. I think it's quite clear what I'm stating.
My point is that 8.1 is the current listing on this page, and nowhere on this page does it say Vista compatible, my whole point is based on this:
ca.com Antivirus for Windows product info page.
I have more important things than this to do, when I say public, I mean the main 'info page' on a product a few clicks from the home page (like above). Like most places put their products. No one getting pissy here.
I'm not going to sign up for a trial so I can see what it lets me download, as I don't use CA stuff even though it comes free with my cable modem account.
Then to further confuse things, 8.3 is the latest release listed here, and not on a main product page:
8.3?
Anyways, I have work to get done today.
