It depends on your needs. As a home user, I use Grisoft AVG with no problems. At work I have been evaluating Eset NOD32 on my laptop and it works great. Our email filter uses Sophos. A few years ago my research brought me to the conclusion that Command Antivirus was one of the best, but since then they becamse Authentium and I don't know how well their AV is now.

Want something free? I've heard good things about Avast (and AVG is free too).

What do you all think about eTrust AV that M$ is distributing? I have just installed it and it's not too much a resource hog so far.

I'm using F-Secure's Internet Security 2004 firewall/antivirus solution. Through Microsoft they are offering a free 6 month trial. This is the best integrated - non-bloatware - easy to understand firewall - good antivirus suite that I have used thus far. When the trial is up, I'm gonna get a license. . .

I've been using Kaspersky and holy damn, this is THE BEST AV software period. AVG was a nice free one without much slowdowns on the system but it couldn't prevent many infections. Kaspersky killed every virus it found.
