Ants!! How do YOU get rid of them???

Got an ant problem in my house. Had a line of them going about 20' from the laundry room to the kitchen tht I just found today and lit 'em up with Raid. Prior to today, they were just concentrated in the downstairs bathroom. I had just been spraying a bit of Raid on them so it wasn't a big deal. But because I found them today in that long line, my whole house smells like Raid. I'm going to be sweeping and mopping my entire downstairs tonight when I get home from work, but the ant problem has been a week long battle.

We have an exterminator who sprays 1x.mo but because of the heat we've had recently, and my house being a constant 72 deg. it's more hospitable for everyone including bugs I'd imagine. I'm going to take a can of Raid and spray the entire base of the house as well do a major cleaning inside this wknd. What do you guys do for your ant problems?

These are the only ant baits that worked for an ant infestation in my old apartment--everything else was pretty much useless. It takes a few days but we found piles of dead ants along the corners of our living room once it took effect and didn't have any later problems.

Ant problem at our house as well. Knocked them out in the first round with some terro. Second step was to spray 3 month poison stuff you buy at home improvement stores around the door where they were coming in.

So far 3 weeks without ants.

#1 Spray Home Defense around the house few times a year

#2 do NOT KILL THEM, see exactly where they are coming from. Now proceed to kill them and use bleech or any chemical to CLEAN the track (ants leave a track behind them for others to follow)

#3 seal the area where there are getting thru

#4 spray that area with Home Defense

#5 set up Terro (from home depot) in that area

What kind of ants? I had carpenter ants for a short time and traced them to some cedar siding that had gotten wet and started rotting. I nuked the ants in and around the siding, replaced the siding, and they have never returned.

If you just want to watch them being all confused, put bleach on your finger, or a sponge or something, and "erase" part of their line. They'll start walking around in circles, it's pretty funny.

They make this line using their scent so they keep following the same path. But the bleach kills off their scent. Oh and if it's the red ants avoid crushing them with your finger, they smell horrible and it's hard to get that smell of you. #LFMF.

I use a product called cyonara, it's a multi bug killer. Anything from bed bugs to giant spiders. It will kill ants too. I have tons of ants outside my house, none inside. I just spray all the outside walls with the stuff once or twice a year.

The ants I have are def. not red. Black in color and they are all over my lot. Front, back and on the side. I have a few brown spots of lawn that I'm working on and I can see a line of ants crawling through that as well. I have a few dogs that mainly reside along the side of my house. I'll need something pet friendly on that side.

Just toss your dirty tissues outside, and they'll disappear within a day.
