EDIT: just checked and it seems that i've downloaded FahCore_65, not FahCore_79, so i must be doing the -advmethods wrongly

over at the oc forum, people are reporting getting JIUHB 2100+'s!!!! not AIUHB2100.... and they aren't overclocking well at all...

Well I got my 2400+ rig setup. I found out my old PC2100 ram was bad though one stick and I didn't have time to wait around for some ram to ship to me. So I went to the local store and was going to buy some ram and all they had was PC2100 and PC2700 Infineon or PC3200 Samsung. I decided to give the Samsung a shot since they were all about the same price. Well so far so good I can run this stick at 2-2-2-4 at 133Mhz flawlessly with memtest86, going to try 166Mhz later then 200Mhz see what I can pull out of them on this "N"board. Hey did you guys see the new bios yesterday for the 8RDA+? Apparently it's for the new 200Mhz FSB detection for the new CPU's? I was unaware they were actually going to make that step I thought they decided against taking the athlon to a 200Mhz FSB. Although I don't sit here and read all about them just here and toms is about it if anyone knows some decent news sites like these that would be great to hear of more. My 1700+ will be coming soon.....

there aren't many Gromacs WUs, once in a while I'm getting a normal WU too, so maybe that is the problem. Maybe the 19.? pointer (Tinker), the 7, 9.?? and 33 pointer (gromacs are most interesting)...

Wow this Antec True430 is nice. It hums quietly all the time MSI on a lot of there boards don't allow you to up the voltage more then .2 over the stock voltage they try to limit over clocking abilities as much as possible without not allowing you to over clock a little is what I get. There technical support says they don't make there boards so they can over clock and that is why they left the PCI lock out on the K7N2-L. Which I didn't find out until after I bought it.

Yeah, looks down. Can't get an nslookup on it, odd. They did say when I called to confirm stock on Monday that they had had massive demand for these Gems. Probably the www.hexus.net review, as thats where I got the link.

Hope they come back on soon, this deals too hot to miss. None of the other suppossed 'OC stores' can gaurantee the steppings or even stock 1700+s.

I've read hours worth of this thread and changed my mind many times about which mobo to buy....I've gotten some good advice, but still not sure......don't really want to spend $140 for a mobo.....I have a IWILL KK266R right now, but it doesn't lock the pci as far as I can tell and I want to go for DDR mem...probably OCZ PC3200...
Anyone: Is the PCI clock locked on the 8RDA+? I was still thinking about the Asus A7N8X (non deluxe)....but not sure....I plan on OCing my 1700+ tbred and want USB 2.0, ATA133, don't care about raid, firewire, sata....Thanks....

the highest i've seen some one oc a T-Bred A is 2GHz, most of the oc's i've seen only go up to 1.7-1.8GHz

If it uses the KT266a chipset then the PCI bus is not locked but it on a 1/4 divider from 133MHz up(may start at ~120)

Tbred 'A's are poor overclockers.
My XP1800 will only do 1.96GHz & thats at 1.85v+!:Q ,at 1.88GHz it needs 1.67v & it still runs hotter than my XP1700 'B' core

which board... hmm, if you are always lucky, get a Abit NF7. They should OC pretty well, are fine boards. If you don't have luck... stay away. This board has been quite troublesome to many people... although mine runs fine (which IS a wonder).

Yes the 8RDA+ and the ASUS board as well has a PCI lock, it's permanently locked and you can't adjust it at all. If you read through this thread's first few pages you will see alot about this board, I think 90% of the people in this thread are using this board and have had excellent luck. I have had one and installed it in my friends system and it ran great. Although it's the board I cut myself on if you read above you will find that story on this page.

for now, i recommend either the Epox or Abit....it's up to you on the features

update: ok now increased voltage to 1.85(actual) because of instablities when encoding video using DiVX(followed Duvie's suggestion). surprisingly though, prime95 passed 24 hours without any problems at 1.825v.
now encoding video again.
