There are no laser cuts on Tbreds

LilHen
If you have multiplier selection in the bios or on the mbrd then thats all you need to do to select them ,no need for bridge joining on Tbreds

Killrose
Wierd ,because my Tbred B runs cooler than the Pal @1.78GHz I had.

Assimilator1, I thought the T-Breds were actually cut through the PCB(?) to the lands below the surface.
Geeze, guess I never really paid enough attention with the 8RDA. Just slap it in there, put some goo on it and go, LOL

My other T-Bred/B I just sold did run cooler than my old AGOIA, even though it was running about 200MHz faster. But I am now able to run another 300MHz over what my other T-Bred/B would do with this new one, which in itself usually equates to more heat, I guess.

I thought so too at 1st! ,I latter found out I needn't have bothered!

Well, I just got my 1700XP from newegg. It's a Tbred B. Seems to be working fine at 12.5x133mhz. Boots up as a 2000XP anyway.

Did you order recently? Newegg still seems to be shipping out the A's.

I just bought an Athlon XP 1700+ from newegg.com and they seem to still be selling T-bred A's because thats what I received today.

AXDA1700DLT3C 9798708260542

Does anyone know how high this will overclock to or the average overclock of this chip? I'm going to be running this in an Asus A7N8X-Deluxe with Uber 1002.A bios. I'm just hoping this CPU will be able to hit 166x11.5 because that is my "reachable goal" whereas my "unreachable goal" will be 200x12.5.

thanks in advance

you're "unreachable goal" is unreachable for most people anyway...

Aww...thats not very nice of newegg to give me an A core and give everyone else a B core. Right now I'm running the CPU at 145x12 and it seems to be alright...except for those fatal memory errors...and all that other BSODing. lol.

Damn, I feel for ya. Sucks that everybody else is getting over 2GHz and you can't even get 1.8GHz stable. My crappy Soltek SL-75DRV2 (KT266A) won't even support the Tbred's, so I have to sit back and watch everyone else have all the fun.

You stand a fair chance of hitting 1.9GHz with a Tbred A ,but not much higher ,if at all, they are poor overclockers

I got 1.8GHz "stable" by pushing the vcore up to 1.6 (1.649 from within windows asus probe):|, but i dont want to keep it that high for too long because of temperature problems...is 38C idle and 40C load too good to be true :Q? Or is my motherboard giving me a false reading ? With my old thunderbird it would idle at 50C and under full load it would shoot up to 56C :Q. And this is with the same cooler I am using on the tbred a (CoolerMaster HHC-001).

:brokenheart: stupid thoroughbred a and newegg combination!!!!!! i shoot you with m4a1 in cs!

So I've joined the XP1700+ madness.

Got my AXDA1700DLT3C JUIHB 0310WPMW running at 12x200 @ 1.8V Twinmos/Winbond PC3200 5-2-2-2 at a load temp of 45C.

I'd have to say I'm happy.
