Any body have problems with Win ME, MS Digital 80 Speakers and ICQ??

Since I changed my windows from Windows 98 to Windows ME there seems to be a delay between keystrokes in ICQ while I type. This seems to be related to the MS Digital 80 speakers. When I chose the speakers as my preference the above occurs. When I choose my Creative LIVE! sound card as my prefered sound device the problem goes away. This did not happen before I switched to Windows ME.

Has anyone else seen this problem and have you been able to resolve it?

I have WinME and in ICQ i get the delay with my AC97 onboard sound. My solution is called Win98SE- Me is too buggy for me

I'll probably upgrade to ME sometime in the next couple weeks and I have your speakers too. Does the Digital 80 driver work in WinME?

I didn't install the drivers for my DSS80's because I don't like to use USB for my speakers since I have a nice sound card. There is no sense wasting CPU cycles.

According to a MS support article, WinME has a driver for the speakers, but the software(EQ, etc) will not work. I`ve got the speakers and they work fine hooked to the MX300.

I dont know about you guys but I can definitely hear a difference in sound quality when I use USB as opposed to plugging it in to my SB Live Value.

I'm using Me, DSS80 via USB, and ICQ 2000b; don't notice the delay when playing WinAMP in the background while typing in ICQ. But, if WinAMP is STOPPED, there IS a delay. Go figure.

Well it is obvious that Win ME and DSS80 speakers along with ICQ, there is a compatibility issue. Oneeighty your findings are definitely interesting.
